Hey guys just a question here involving uTorrent. Just want to try get this fixed now. As an example, right now I am downloading the Goldeneye Source off Moddb and it is downloading at around 800 kB/s So my download will be done in around 20 minutes. Meanwhile, using uTorrent I am downloading Ubuntu and am getting a download speed of around 70.0 kB/s. So I'm just wondering, is it normal for Torrents to be this much slower compared to downloading from your browser? Thanks for any help!
It depends on how many people are seeding and leeching. Leechers are people downloading and seeders are those uploading. The more people are seeding, the better download speed you get, but the more leechers there are means a slower download speed.
You also should port forward.
It says that the port is fine. It says for Seeds: 4(1024) and Peers: 66(17433) I'm not sure what the difference is with the numbers in and out of the brackets.
The number in the brackets are all the seeds or peers available, the number outside the brackets is the number your're connected to and downloading from. Only 4 seeds means your connection is sloowwwww.
In other words, You're fucked. Try another.
Incoming warez ban?
Yeppers. They better, I got banned for it. :argh:
wow why isnt this thread closed for warez yet???????
Admins are slow today.
wow why isnt this thread closed for warez yet???????
He hasn't said anything illegal, he's just asking for help on uTorrent...

oh, rofl i thought he was downloading something illegal! XD
Using a torrent program isn't illegal, what you use it for can be. This, is not. Even EA uses torrents for sharing demos (I'm talking about the Crysis demo) Now, torrents are different from your standard server download. It depends on other people upload speeds and not a server's set bandwidth. Some torrents will be slow because the seeds and leeches are not uploading at a very high rate. The amount of seeders/leechers doesn't always mean it is a slow torrent if there aren't many of either. I've downloaded stuff like demos from torrents with 10 seeds and 2 leeches at 1.2mb/s

Ah I see. Well I'm not downloading Goldeneye Source off uTorrent, I'm downloading that as a regular download, and using it as an example of the difference in speeds. Heres another thing that is confusing me. My house got a 7.6 MBPS connection, heres the link: http://www.gaelictelecom.ie/home-broadband-always-on-premium.html But yet, when I do a Speed Test I get this: Is this right?
Yeah my internet is spazzed out like that too.

So your saying that, yes, there is some problem in some shape or form?
