I'm a couple days late, but haven't seen a thread on this yet. AVG has released 10.0 "Version 10.0 includes enhanced LinkScanner and Email Scanner and adds new features, such as Social Networking Protection, Smart Scanning, Autofix Button, Community Protection Network, and Protective Cloud Technology." http://www.avg.com/ww-en/press-releases-news.ndi-283905 Along with a new UI. Here is the free version. http://www.avg.com/ww-en/homepage I love it so far. Scans faster without slowing my computer down, new UI is nice and always catches things trying to get in! I got the paid version already. Many more things to find out.
I stopped using AVG back in 2007 after the free version started to overly advertise the PRO version by spamming popups and having baners inside the program.
Nod32 + Malware Bytes > All [editline]10:13AM[/editline] The whole Nod32 suite that is.
Avast and common sense.
Avast + Malwarebytes > All
Comodo Sandbox + Malwarebytes > All
Something you like + Malwarebytes + Common sense > All
Common sense + Little computer literacy > All [editline]08:45PM[/editline] Comodo is my favorite, used AVG Free, it was ok
Common sense + Little computer literacy > All
You should still always have an antivirus.
Comodo and common sense
In other news, ComodoIS 5 also got released recently. Check it out!
I use Norton :smug: Not really, thanks for the update, ill go check it out later
I love AVG. It's simple and it works wonders. So what if it advertises it's PRO version. That's how they make money, by selling their product. It's not like they get in the way. Not for me anyways.
Common sense > all.
Nod32 + Malware Bytes > All [editline]10:13AM[/editline] The whole Nod32 suite that is.
I got Nod32 and it kept de-activating itself and popping things up every 5 minutes. Went back to good ol' AVG. F-secure is good too.
Common sense > all.
Enjoy your exploit.
Here we go with this stupid anti-malware program/suite war again.
Comodo 2011 > All Nothing beats Defense+
http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/main-tests That being said, I'm currently using G DATA due to its pretty high grade on the most recent comparative, along with Malwarebytes
Yes, let's use the results of an old report to judge a new and updated product.
Yes, let's use the results of an old report to judge a new and updated product.
I've used both Notron AND McAfee, and both sucked, and no matter how much advancement and change they make to their programs for the better, I'll still never use them again.
I've used both Notron AND McAfee, and both sucked, and no matter how much advancement and change they make to their programs for the better, I'll still never use them again.
Here's the thing: AVG was once actually good, so don't bring Norton OR Mcafee into this.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and doesn't ever bug you about upgrading to a pro version or renewing any licenses or anything. It hardly bugs you at all really, the icon changes orange when you don't do a virus scan or an automated one hasn't occurred for a long time, but that's about all. Also it's saved 2 of my computers from a virus I got from plugging a flash drive into a library computer, so seems good enough for me (besides that incident, I haven't gotten viruses in years, a little common sense goes a long way).
Yet another antivirus circle jerk on facepunch. I'll sit this one out.
Where do you download common sense? :downs:
MSE + Ad-Aware > All
Linux > All antiviruses :P
Linux > All antiviruses :P
No computer > All antiviruses
common sense + sandboxie > all
Thanks OP! Installing now.
