How do I check if my laptop is bluetooth compatible?

It will always be "bluetooth compatible" if it is running a decent OS, but the question is, do you have the hardware for it? You can use a bluetooth dongle if you do not. (Bluetooth dongles are cheap.)

what i mean is, can i use a bluetooth device (in this case, a bluetooth wirless mouse) out of the box without needing to buy anything else.

Do you have the model number? (Starts with "VW" or "VE")

How do I find the model number? I checked the bottom of the laptop and none of the large number/letter strings start with VW or VE and there was a model number but it was just "D40"
