Recently I bought the Dow2 Gold Package. At first I couldn't even start the game, but I think that was due to Windows Live. After awhile it worked perfectly, until I hit a part when Nids and Eldar are on the Hive World. During these three missions there are occasions where my screen turns green or grey with bars going down it. Most of the time the sound still plays but sometimes it just buzzes. The real annoying part is that my ENTIRE FUCKING COMPUTER freezes. F4, ctraltdelete, or anything for that matter won't get me to my desktop, or to my menu, or to anything. I have to press an emergency shutdown button in the back of my labtop.
I am thinking of just wiping my computer clean and start fresh, because many other things are fucking up too. I also tried defraging my computer and I am trying to find out how to download new drivers. Any ideas what to do or what is causing this?
Sounds like something is dying, probably your graphics card. Does it do it on other games, or only that one?

Only DoW. The computer is really new, I can't see anything dying yet. The only other game related problem would also be Minecraft refusing to start up.

I had a similar issue where Half-Life 2 and all it's related source engine games rebooted the system.
It turned out to be a driver fault but yours certainly sounds more hardware related.
Play in Windowed mode? so you can close it?
