• Replacing a few parts inside a computer, and what issues it may cause

Okay, I was wondering if it's possible to replace the motherboard, and the processor, and still have the computer work fine without any trouble. I have an Intel Core2 Duo E4500 @ 2.2GHz If I replaced the motherboard and processor only with something more recent, like an i5 and a Quad Core CPU, would everything else function properly with the upgrade? Also is there a way to find out the specific model of my motherboard? I can't find it out. Download CPU-Z and take a screenshot of the mainboard tab. And yeah you can have two hard drives in the same computer.
I found it out. My model number for my Powerspec was T455 and all my parts are Here besides my GPU, which I upgraded to a Nvidia 9500GT 1GB. Would just upgrading my processor to an Intel Quad Core be helpful, as well as buying a 1TB Harddrive? Would I be able to play games at much higher settings is what I'm asking.
I'd say a GPU upgrade would do much more than a CPU upgrade, or you could do both.
you'd need dual channel DDR 3 Memory if you upgraded to i5, and Tripple Channel DDR3 for i7 (i7 as in 1366 socket, not the 1156 socket i7's which are really i5's)
If you want to upgrade to an i5 then you will need to replace your mobo and ram. I heard somewhere that if you want to change the CPU in a pre-built then it can't fully use it. If you do plan on upgrading then you'll have to stick with Intel Core 2 Quad. But like McSanchez said, a GPU upgrade would be better then a CPU Upgrade. But if you're in the US and if your budget allows it then get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102864 Make sure you also have a good power supply. P.S. I used to have that exact same CPU. Here's a link to some RAM.
