My computer has a temperature gauge on the front and since I moved its been hotter. I dont know what part of the computer the gauge is telling the temperature of, So I downloaded something that checks your computer temperature and it shows this. What thermal paste do you use, AS5?
What thermal paste do you use, AS5?
I use Arctic Silver 5, probably the best compound out there.
Those temps are fine, the Core 2 Duo chips can take a lot of punishment anyway, I've made mine hit 122℃ before (not for long of course)
I need to sort out my cpu cooling. I have a water cooling setup and I recently tried to overclock my i7 920 to 3.5ghz. At 3.5ghz i got temps of 80℃so i set it back to stock. I'm not sure what the problem is.

I have MX-2, Artic Silver 5, Asus and Zalman. Overall, I prefer the MX-2.

Thermal limit for the chips is 72.4C, and they start degrading after this point if I remember rightly.
