• My usual internet speed has been divided by 60. Why?

I used to enjoy a healthy 600 kb/s downlaod speed, a healthy amount that allowed me to download big budget games in 2 hours and play local gmod servers with a latency of 20. But for some reason, my internet has dropped to the speed of 10 kb/s for the past 3 days. And as I write this on my lower-than-dialup connection, it is the dead of night, so it aint traffic. Any ideas, tech support?
yell at your isp
They did not do shit, they said my nets fine.
tell them it's not
What do you think I told them you twonk, that Cthulu is comming?
Ok, is there anyway to se who/what is sending data to/from a computer? And stop what you dont want to recieve?
How about you open your modem's status page and check the link status
Again, already done that. I have checked all the obvious areas, the cables, modem, pc settings, the jack ins themselves. No problems there.
Tell your ISP you want an engineer to look at it else you're changing ISP. If there's one thing that scares an ISP it's the possible loss of a customer.
OH DEAR LAWD 20 LESS DOLLARS A MONTH! WE MUST HELP HIM! They're not that compassionate.
OH DEAR LAWD 20 LESS DOLLARS A MONTH! WE MUST HELP HIM! They're not that compassionate.
Uh, if you tell them you will switch to a competitor, they go apeshit. I just phoned them up, and they are sending a team to my house in 3 days.
Something to that extent happened to me, your connection could just be throttled. Sounds kinda obvious, but have you tried resetting your connection (turn your modem of then on).
Yes, many a time.
Last time this happened to me I port scanned their entire network and then the problem magically disappeared. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] Completely unrelated but it was good timing.
Probably over your download limit.
