Concerned with the wellbeing of my graphics card due to dual monitor software

I purchased a $1500 PC (Tower + Monitor) a few months ago and I'm worried about a few things that have been happening graphics wise. I'm using 2 monitors, the newer one (1920x1080) and my older one (1280x1024). The newer one is connected via HDMI cable and the older one is connect by some older blue cable I'm not sure the name of (VGA?). There was a disk that came with the monitor that allowed dual monitors so I installed it and set everything up. It works fine but it tends to bug out quite a few times.
One bug that's been happening is that my desktop creates what I call a "graphics" void that makes it so whatever you drag it into that space, it duplicates the mouse and program, like a camera that has a high exposure time (not sure if that's the right terminology). It's like playing on a source engine map with a missing skybox.
That's also associated with a bug that causes my desktop background to shift oddly to the right, the only way to fix it is click and dragging an empty space so the blue mass selection thing (been sitting on my ass using a computer since I was 6 and I still don't know what the hell it's called) covers that area and my desktop
Another is that when I play games, once in a while both screens goes black like it disconnects. It shows it's respective plugin method on the top (HDMI and VGA(?)), and I have to wait a good 3 seconds for everything to boot up. For a second it shows a frame from the last time it happened, which worries me if my graphics card is working harder than it should.
The program I am using is called "Dual Smart Solution" by Logitech. It's version is 2.4 but apparently there's a 2.6. I tried looking for it on the logitech website but there were no versions found for my model number, but it came with a disk that had that software so I don't know. The only place that has the download is 3rd party websites that are incredibly suspicious and were for a different model number.
If you're using Windows 7, it can handle multiple monitors well enough without having to use some 3rd party software.
Try uninstalling the Logitech screen software and update your graphics driver from Nvidia or AMD (depending on who made your video card.)
Yes, uninstall the logitech thing, download the latest drivers for your graphics card, uninstall your current drivers, and install the new ones

I'm using windows 8.1, would that make a difference?
Nope, Windows 8 handles multiple monitors even better than 7.
