Silly but at the same time cool. I'm glad they made it into a choice between different things in a situation rather than what it first sounded like; "Along the way you will find things that you have to activate to keep progressing".
Makes for cool variation in an albeit silly way, although I can't imagine any more sane way to make such a feature either.

Would be kinda funny to see it do a self-reference and have them appear outside a modern games store when the game is launching. See crowd of gamers all start calling out to them right before they get pulled back to their world. Then leave them creeped out just a little bit.
