the game is so fucking grindy to get to max level, and the infamy system is pretty much only going to be used by cheaters or people with too much free time[/QUOTE]
it's not hard to get infamous, just do a stealth bank or diamond store then do a 3 day heist with the stealth bonus active and repeat

It gets incredibly tedious, especially when there's other really good missions that just don't get a chance because you only get 10k XP.
In the meantime, just do GO Bank for a sweet 30k XP payout.
Firestarter pro is best mission

Due to the reduced points required to get to the next tier, infamy makes skill allocation a lot more efficient, giving you much less dump-stats and more skills you actually want.

Rotate your jobs to not get screwed by reduction, bro. Firestarter pro, diamond store, Rats pro, diamond store, Big Oil, diamond store.
This game used to be awesome but then they made the mistake of making enemies bullet sponges like the last game. That's why I stopped playing Payday 1 and they fixed it... Temporarily.
Make me go down in less hits, I don't care but I shouldn't have to get 30 head shots to take down a single enemy regardless of whether they're armored or not.
Or you could just script everything in and get to playing the game.
This is one of my biggest problems with the game.
If they improve this I might start playing it again.

This.
Once you have to stop worrying about card drops and you can do what you want, the game becomes a whole lot funner.

Before it was a straight out grind on rats, for about 3 days straight for infamous.
Now its much more grindy but this method works well and ive been using it as a Mastermind ever since.

Personally I find the progression to be part of the fun, it gives me something to work towards.

theres no progression is the thing. its pure and utter rng. whether you get that red dot sight for your rifle is random. you may never get it

I think he's talking about level progression, not weapon progression. The RNG is probably why they added the courier mods, a bit shitty implementation considering it's paid DLC, but... still kinda good.
The changes they've been making this month have been nothing but good. This game is really fucking shaping up. When they release these changes into live, the game will officially get really good.

While true, progression is more than attachments for your gun. People enjoy leveling up, increasing their skills, going infamous, unlocking new items/weapons (level lock).
Attachments being locked like that would help progression too, but I think there is still quite a bit of natural progression without it. This isn't even counting other forms of progression, such as how missions and at least one difficulty unlock on your level too, allowing you harder missions and greater rewards.
Will my progress stick once this goes live?

To my knowledge, yes.
