So yeah, school is beginning again shortly, or has already started for some. Some people are going to be Juniors in highschool/college, so let's share tips. -Be friendly towards your teachers -Make your homework, it helps -Try to be friends with everyone, you may need them someday -Shower before school to avoid BO My tips are kind of lame, so share your tips and hopefully they're better than mine!
Go to the toilet before you go to school. You won't regret it. Trouble at listening? Make some notes.
-Your teachers are probably awful people in real life, punish them -Homework is a tool of the system -Everyone is out to get you -Showering makes you christian [editline]26th August 2014[/editline] On a serious note though: Take electives that you are actually interested in. I've taken awful classes that I didn't like and just wasted time on my schedule when I could have been doing something remotely fun.
History class is the only one that matters.
If you need money, beat up a nerd and take his
And if we are talking about hygiene then I just gotta say: brush your teeth in the morning. There are still guys that don't do it at my school and it's awfully noticeable, so do yourself a favor and brush in the morning if you don't already. [editline]26th August 2014[/editline]
If you need money, beat up a nerd and take his
Or drug dealers. Most of them have been stupid enough to leave a couple hundred dollars in their (completely unlocked) lockers along with some kush for you to steal.
-don't bring any device larger than 6 inches (tablets, laptops) or you'll get harassed for using it too much -avoid getting involved in conflicts -don't say stupid shit that later you'll regret -learn and do homework, or you're screwed -if you have finals, make sure you read books few months earlier -turn off your phone at lessons (or have friends that won't bother you when you're in school) -don't be socially awkward, or you'll be harassed for talking nonsenses -go to sleep at 10-11pm (i know a lot of people that go to sleep at 1-2am) -write down all the important things -stay in contact with other classmates if you're sick for few days, just to make sure you don't miss anything -respect your teachers, or else... -NEVER, i repeat, NEVER bring fancy accessories, like hats(especially fedoras), cheap sunglasses, sunglasses in a cloudy weather -don't wear a damn tracksuit in class -if you copy other's homeworks, make sure you make it believable(add some mistakes, if its a text homework, don't copy it word to word, or you'll get caught copying faster, delete the pictures of others homeworks, if you did some)
-It's always better to drop a day or two from school in order to study for a test. -When teachers shout at you for doing something stupid don't even say one word , I survived with this shit in my whole life in school. You don't want to make them angrier and at the end they like you more because you didn't start the whole WHAT??I DIDN"T DO THAT shit. -Be nice to some of the studying kids , you might need them some day. I could say more but the educational system in Greece really differs from the rest but at least I tried . By the way , thank god I am in university. I can enjoy all these morning sleeps
Ask your teacher for a rough outline of the curriculum, then suss out the the topics/material you'll be covering.. when you go over it in class it will be revision, not an introduction. Use KhanAcademy to help with your maths.
-Your teachers are probably awful people in real life, punish them -Homework is a tool of the system -Everyone is out to get you -Showering makes you christian
If you're ever low on friends, it is always a good idea to go to the most crowded area you can find (bonus points if people are eating or you shit yourself), drop your pants and let out the loudest fart you possibly can. Caveman hierarchy was decided by who could fart the loudest, and in undeveloped brains such as teens and young children, this instinct is still present. As funny as it may seem, don't harass people. Sooner or later, one of them will deck you and you will not enjoy it, unless you're a weirdo who's into that kind of stuff. In that case, good luck on your endeavor to get chinned!
Janitors are your best friend
-Make your homework, it helps
Speaking of that, what the fuck am I supposed to do with these sums? [T]http://i.imgur.com/W1PSZlD.jpg[/T] This is on VMBO-K level and I recently started with this, so I have no idea yet what to do.

B is 3x4 = 12 16 - 12 = 4 4 devided by 8 = 0,5 etc
Take notes and actually give a shit, doubly applies if you're in college, in which then it's a choice you're even there so don't waste your time. If you have nothing else to do for the night go to sleep, it helps the week pass quicker and maybe helps you get a few extra hours of sleep.

Remember to eat and drink well. During summer breaks I don't really do much physically, but school makes me drowsy easy. Speaking of which, I'm hungry, see ya.
ask her out bitch, don't make excuses
BEDMAS, PEMDAS or whatever you call it for order of operations.
be good buddies with the tech people in your school. offer to help people with their technical problems, it will make many people think better of you Only reason anyone there talks to me, to fix stuff
Google Scholar is great for finding scholarly references. If APA referencing (or whichever system you're required to use) is too hard to memorise, you can use an online generator or Google Scholar offers a view of articles which reference the article you need to reference, so you can usually adapt the reference layout with minor modifications as needed (from the article that references the article which you want to reference). You can tell that an article is scholarly if it's published in a journal, especially one with review in the name, if it's been peer-reviewed and if it has its own scholarly references following referencing standards. Instead, actually listen to the lecturer. Your lecturer would usually post a document summarising the key points of a lecture online anyways. VMBO K, so I think that's equal to year 9 in America (Or you could say it's the first year of highschool, or the second/third/fourth depending on what year he's in)

Both multiplication/division and the FOIL method.
They don't teach us that in Netherlands until Junior year in highschool (so 9th grade in America) So it's perfectly normal he doesn't understand that yet
We got that on the 10th grade I believe.
Assert your dominance by dry humping your teacher in front of the class.
Dont start college/school by not talking to anyone, seriously try and do it as much as possible. You really dont want to be the only person in that class room without friends Seriously, everyone in that class is going to be shy at first but give it a week and everyone will be getting into their little friend groups.
I don't have that much to offer in the way of advice myself, but is there anything specific I could do with knowing going into 6th form?
Is it wierd btw to always have more girls than boys as friends? And as in 1/6 part of my friends are boys and the rest girls. No I'm not gay so I'm not complaining but somehow I always have that :v:
thats pretty cool actually, I hang out with predominantly boys, but its always nice to have a friend thats a girl. Just dont act like a dick about it I suppose (boasting and all that)
Get a year-long day planner, and write down when things are due, and other events. Very useful for myself. Also, figure out how much time it takes you to get from class to class, and then always leave an extra five minutes early if possible if you intend to be be there on time. It's better to arrive earlier to a class and miss out on a conversation or a bit of free time but arrive on time, than to finish a conversation or spend a bit more time doing whatever if you show up late.
