If you bought it on Steam, you can now that it's been released.
Update: We reported a few minutes ago that Ark refunds were being allowed on Steam regardless of how long players had owned the game, or how many hours they had played. That was true for a while today, but Valve has fixed the issue, and the standard refund rules appear to be back in effect.
Well shit.
Which is shitty of the devs, similar thing happened with kf2 and the devs acknowledged it and allowed refunds after release but these shitty devs get away with it
Complete horseshit that you can't refund stuff once it leaves early access. EA ought to be a sort of investment like thing where in exchange for presenting your plan for your game (and actually sticking with it to the end), people who are interested in seeing the project reach that goal buy into the game despite not being finished. I mean, on paper that's exactly what it is, but if you don't let people refund once released or whatever then there's basically no reason for devs to actually do what they say they're going to do.

Thing is at least with Killing Floor 2 now it's a good game, whereas Ark, concept of it is great, but their execution is beyond shit.
looks pretty cool
when are we getting the $20 optimization DLC, though?

in the game's defense, it isn't necessarily a bad game. it's just got most of it's progression aspects set up to be total grind. the game isn't actually that bad when you adjust harvest and taming rates to be a lot better
my problem lies with the devs. releasing constant DLCs without any optimization is obnoxious. they're currently paying a ton of big twitch streamers to play their game. it's obvious they're told not to make negative comments on it, too. Quoting a streamer in response to a negative comment in chat, "I would agree, but i'm kinda not allowed to"
i'm also pretty sure i got banned by an ark dev in a streamer chat because I advised to someone against buying ark because of the dev's bad practices and lack of optimization
Im one of those that are happy with this game, it runs well for me ( 50-60 fps @ high ) and I love survival games overall.
What's your computer specs for that?
i7 4970k ( Not overclocked atm ), gigabyte gtx 1060 6gb oc edition and 16gbs of ram.
It runs pretty much fine at high settings for me, and im happy with the game.
Edit
Oh yes, also obviously I play at 1920x1080, 4k and things like that are too fancy for me.
Not too bad then, we share the same processor. That would imply that they've done at least SOME optimising since last time I tried that on an R9 290 (I'd imagine it's similar to the 1060 at least) I only got ~30FPS

I got a friend running the same processor but with a 1080 and 32gb RAM and his game kept crashing and stuttering. I just don't get it :pudge:

I'm still waiting to get the game that was shown in the initial trailers (and even the ones after). They all showed it to be a serious, well-made, professional looking dinosaur game. They were completely different in tone from what the game actually is; no mention of the horrible text everywhere, the near non-existent creature/AI behaviour, the stupid character creator, all the grinding etc.

This is the game i wanted. Doesn't seem like it's much closer to that, really.
I am so happy I managed to get this game refunded in the tiny window it was possible. I never thought I could find a game about riding dinosaurs so tedious, optimization and bugs aside. Gonna use that €16,97 to buy something way better.

That dragon at the end had me hyped when I first saw it. But unfortunately, they're a boss enemy. And that means that IF you manage to tame it, it's only temporary and then it disappears*.
