http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009179 $149.99 Acer monitor from newegg, 23", and built-in speakers. I've read some complaints that the speakers are bad, I just wanted to use them for gaming, like playing Shattered Horizon. The stand some also said it's cheap. Do any of you have an acer monitor, and is it good/bad? Thanks!
heard of headphones? monitor speakers are mostly shitty and tinny and quiet
Pepper;18600554']heard of headphones? monitor speakers are mostly shitty and tinny and quiet
I have headphones, but they are uncomfortable, and use them in games that require a mic. If the game doesn't use voicechat, I just use speakers.
I have a monitor with speakers. It lacks basses but otherwise it's okay for a non audiophile. Does its job. If you like the sound you'd buy a cheaper monitor and some 2.1 or 2.nothing speakers... Doesn't cost much and sounds better
Alright, well I've found this one, it adds 1", and it also is $40 more, and has no speakers....Although I prefer Samsung over Acer, I'm not sure which one to pick. I'm leaning to the samsung: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001338
Samsung is better. HP is even better. Get some speakers with it the ones that are internal sound like your mobile phone. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121002&cm_re=x_140-_-36-121-002-_-Product = 100x better then internal.
Speakers are $10 and monitor speakers are absolutely horrible and I wouldn't recommend them even to my worst enemies.
And what if I wouldn't use the speakers? Is this a good monitor picture-wise? I wouldn't use the monitor speakers because I always have my headphones on.
5ms response kinda sucks da dick. I looked at 2 24" monitors. One monitor with 5ms response and 50k:1 contrast and 2ms response and 20k:1 contrast. I picked the 2ms response

I have a 5ms monitor and I've never seen any tearing or anything...

I picked the 2ms response
Anything under 8 ms is not really noticeable At least I've heard so. I remember gaming on some 24+ ms screen and it dragged lines when looking around in FPS games for example. To OP, Samsung makes quality monitors, I've got a 24" from them with 5 ms and I won't ever regret getting it.
http://www.condomcare.co.uk/129-p-durex-avanti-ultima.html Cheap, affordable and will give you more pleasure than all of the products listed above put together. :) On a serious note, I agree with Blackwater. Samsung do seem to be pretty consistant across the board when it comes to visuals as I have two Samsung televisions which are both now a year old but still look fantastic.
general opinion is there's no difference also cool you picked the 2ms, any reason why seeing as you lack one
2ms is better for gaming, so I've heard and I can bear having 3ms faster response for lower contrast
http://www.condomcare.co.uk/129-p-durex-avanti-ultima.html
Does it tear? On the side note. I am looking for a new monitor. An improvement on my current 17" CRT. I was wondering if 2ms monitors are worth getting over 5ms.
I was wondering if 2ms monitors are worth getting over 5ms.
they're not
I have a 5ms monitor and I've never seen any tearing or anything...
I only get tearing in games I run at 200+ fps. Shit like Garry's Mod, Painkiller, Counter Strike.
