So I'm looking to improve on the pc I have right now, without spending too much money. It's a prebuilt Medion and it's able to play most Valve games on medium to high settings easily.
I'm not quite sure what parts of my PC I should update, but I basically just wanna be able to play some of the newer games without having to resort to playing on low/medium @ 600x800 resolution..
If I could just get a decent framerate on medium settings in most games, that would be great.
Copypasted from my dxdiag:
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1
System Manufacturer: MEDIONPC
System Model: MS-7502
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Page File: 1409MB used, 2924MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
I tried to find a link of the exact PC I have in English, but I could only find links in Dutch.
The model is the Medion MD 8828.
Thanks for the help :)
What is the graphics card?
I think it's a 9500 GS.
Also, assuming your OS is 32-bit or is it?
look for a 4850 or 4670
Oh soz, forgot my graphics card.
I have a GeForce 8600 GS
And yes my OS is 32-bit.
Might wanna grab another 2Gb stick of memory, and get a HD4850.

Two bits of memory won't do him much good.
Two GB will.
He can buy 2GB of RAM but he won't get his moneys worth since he is using 32-bit.
go for a 4850 and E8400 if you don't want to change much since you'll have to change the mobo if you go AMD.
booget?

Oh you know what I meant :ese:
Perhaps PII x3 720 instead of 8400?
Yeah, but he'd new a whole new motherboard for that.
get another gig of ram and max out to 3gb, grab a 4850, and a E7400(?) or a Intel E8400/Intel Q8400 if you want a quad core
the Q8___ quads are terrible
and get 4GB not 3 because
A) for fucks sake it's not a 3GB limit, http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=10565784&postcount=3
B) when you eventually get a 64-bit OS you have the full 4 and won't have to replace the 1GB sticks with 2GB sticks

Rated myself bad reading.
