Yes, the prize is paid work, for three of the biggest games media publishers in the UK, and us. That's a big deal if you're looking for a break in games media. We could have given £1000 in iTunes vouchers, or money, or whatever, but we think that having writing credits mentorship and a chance to actually work in a professional capacity is more valuable. You might not agree with that, but we're trying to do a good thing. If that's frustrating or upsetting, soz.

Could there really be much of a better prize for someone who wants to literally get paid to work as a games journalist?
Gaming journalism is the shittiest kind of journalism, why give them a pat on the back for their opinionative and paid reviews?
