If this means I can change a ship for my character, that's awesome, I always wanted something better for Troopers or Jedis.
I've been looking for reasons to start playing again. This might be it.
They aren't very creative with their designs are they?
Goddamn TOR has a shit art style
Why do none of these look better then the default ships?
Why do none of these look better then the default ships?
I assume theyre limited to this specific new content they're adding, and not actually new player homes. I quite like the look of them though, they all have that special Star Wars EU look.

The unoriginality of TOR annoys me. The Republic's armor makes their soldiers look like Clone Troopers (which doesn't make sense, clone trooper armor is based off Mandalorian culture) and the Sith look like a carbon copy of the Galactic Empire (which also doesn't make sense because the Empire is based off the Republic). My biggest complaint about Star Wars, since its creation, it's pretty much been copying itself. A lot of the characters have been made into entire races themselves, which almost ruins their uniqueness. All the Mandalorians look and act exactly like Boba Fett. All the Gand dress exactly like Zuckuss. Everyone on Corellia acts like Han Solo. Chewbacca's bowcaster is carried by all Wookies.

Every Corellian acts like Han Solo because they're all Corellians like Solo. Bowcaster you got me, Chewie's bowcaster is unique I think being made from an E-11, while all your other ones kinda fit into a premade template.

I'm mad at the authors/developers who, when expanding the Star Wars universe, decided to recycle tons of material instead of making original designs. From a lore standpoint, yes, these things make sense because they wrote it in to make sense. I'm saying that the writers ended up ruining the uniqueness of a bunch of characters by making them mundane. All the characters in the original movies were all extremely different. Now you have an entire planet of Boba Fetts all with the same armor and weapons that he does.

The concept design department and the modellers aren't very good.
I dunno, I don't have any problems with SWTOR's art style, just the designs themselves. Some of the armor and weapons are awful. And those new ships look like crap. [editline]9th September 2013[/editline]
All the Gand dress exactly like Zuckuss.
Not really true, I mean the trooper gets a Gand dressed in full body armor, not Zuckuss' robes Though yeah I tend to agree with the rest of what you said. But if I am being honest, that's a problem with a lot of Star Wars games/media. Like all Kel Dor have the same looking face mask as Plo Koon, as though there's no different looking Kel Dor masks in the galaxy. [editline]9th September 2013[/editline] Oh you are talking about Star Wars in general, not SWTOR. My bad.
Oh, and the Palpatine purposefully designed everything based on the old empire, so that would be why it looks the same.
No, they look the same because they aren't creative or daring enough to sell a Star Wars game without copying off previous material. Palpatine didn't design every single fighter and starship the Empire built.
