• Need help finding and fixing a memory leak

So, I was playing Dark Souls 3 minding my own business, and then I suddenly started getting extreme framerate drops where I wasn't before. Checked task manager, and apparently something is using 95% of my Ram, even when nothing but Chrome is running. It doesn't show up in task manager, since nothing in there exceeds a couple Megabytes of RAM. I'm on Windows 10, and I've already tried disabling the "tips and tricks" notification, which fixed it for a couple weeks, but now it's back. I even check task manager right after booting up without starting anything else, and it's already at 96% within less than a minute of booting. I could use some help figuring out what is causing this. As far as I know, all my drivers should be up to date, and nothing has been installed besides a few updates to default windows programs. My specs - i7 4790 3.6 Ghz 8 GB DDR3 RAM R9 390 Samsung SSD 850 EVO I can provide any other info that's necessary, I just want to be able to USE this computer. EDIT: I found the cause! It turns out that at least on my system, having ANY system notifications enabled seems to cause a memory leak. It may just be a specific setting, but disabling all notifications has, for now, fixed the memory leak issue.
At least for me on Windows 8.1, the task manager seems to hide information from me, displaying incorrect usage or completely hiding apps from the list. Try using the resource monitor instead, accessible from the 'Performance' tab. You might be able to identify the culprit from there, if it isn't Windows itself.
I tried doing that, but it did the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's a bug in Win10 related to notifications, but for some reason it doesn't show up in TM.
