the title says splinter cell but the game says generic 3rd person action game
Own Your Play Style Splinter Cell Blacklist builds on the stealth roots of the franchise, while exploring new directions to embrace the realms of action and adventure. Players can define their personal play styles and be rewarded for those choices. Ghost players want to remain undetected. Assault players rely on instincts and frontal blow to deal with a situation. Panther players look for lethality in the most efficient and silent way.
that is what they claim at least
Have you seen some of the gameplay videos? It really does give you the choice to stealth or to go in guns blazing.
that is what they claim at least
Yet out of everything we've seen it seems like they hold your hands. You're doing less infiltrating/spy shit and instead following a narrow path of enemies until you hit the next cutscene.
Upper Echelon Suit: provides better protection against fire power and blends into the shadows.
Splinter Cell games should not have anything that gives "better protection against firepower". It's a goddamn stealth series. I wish I could say that it was just training wheels, but they're really supporting non-stealth runs.
Gold Sonar Goggles: tactical imaging leaves enemies nowhere to hide.
Gaudy horseshit. They're seriously touting a lame ass reskin with concepts that have been a main point of the franchise since conception.
Players can define their personal play styles and be rewarded for those choices.
No, I want developers to stop doing this, its fucking stupid. It was a stealth series, and you adapted to it and learned how to sneak through effectively. Games that blather about "personal play styles" are really just saying "You can be as shitty at the game as you want -- we're going to hold your hand the entire way!!!"
i wish they made the conviction beta they had back in 2006-2007
honestly, any game these days will hold the fuck out of your hand (save for a few) unless you go on the hardest difficulty and waddayaknow they're pretty fun
indeed. i remember feeling like playing a crippled game on any difficulty that wasnt the hardest on hitman blood money

I think that the last game that really struck a good balance of letting you decide between stealth or fighting was Deus Ex HR. You really had to plan your stealth routes well and if you ever were caught you knew that you just made your life a hell of a lot harder, either having to fight your way out or slip back into the shadows and reset your plan. I'm doubting the new Splinter Cell will be like this sadly...
Uhh. Did that hot-dog stand just explode?
well technically they have a propane tank for cooking the hot dogs [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] the problem with providing both an assault choice and a stealth choice is that if you fail at stealth you're not really punished for finishing it guns blazing.
Uhh. Did that hot-dog stand just explode?
I used to think that didn't make sense either until I hit a hot dog stand in GTA IV.
i made a sam fisher that loosk like the one from the original conviction for gta iv just because the hype. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/conviction.png[/t]
