Just the other day, I noticed that my MP3 player earphone cable was coming apart at the base, so I decided to buy a cheap Sony pair that looked good, 12Hz bass response and all that jazz.. When I got round to testing them out (Just 2 minutes after I got on the train leaving the city) I realised they were crap! The supposed bass response was none existant and they were actually worse quality than the set that came with my CD player 4 years ago. So now, I'm on a mission, to get a decent pair of earphones for £30 or less (not including delivery charges).
I prefer earphones, (as they fit into my pocket much easier and MP3 players are banned at my school, so I have to keep it low profile.) and I can only stand ones with the asymmetric cables (one cable goes up to one earpiece and splits off so the other passes behind your neck). So does anyone have a suggestion as to what type I should buy? I've been looking at the Sennheiser MX500 phones, but the frequency response is only as low as 18Hz, is that really a problem, seeing as the ones that went to 12Hz had terrible bass?
If anyone can give me examples of high quality earphones and UK websites wher eI could buy them for decent prices, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance :)
Panasonic or Phillips makes really good earphones for $20 (US).
I just bought a pair of $20 Phillips. I am VERY happy with them. The quality is also great.
You can get them over at Target.

Don't mind the two reviews. These are great, high quality earbuds. Best of all, they are only $20
Well, the current set I have are Panasonic, but I was looking to go to another company, more specialised, and I've heard that Sennheiser are one of the biggest headset companies around.
Anyone got good or bad experience with Sennheiser, and would it be wise spending £30 on a set of earphones made by them?
Edit: I'm in the UK, so US sites are no good to me, and if you didn't know, £30GBP is roughly $55 USD
$54 dollars, eh?
Buy a pair of TurtleBeach ones. They are really good. Especially the one with 8 speaker surround sound.
Edit:
Sennheisers, from what I've seen, cost WAY more than £30.

Not the ones I'm looking at. I'm not going for HEADPHONES, I'm looking for earphones to go with my MP3 player, although with enough convincing, I may just go for a set of headphones for listening to my music on my PC and gaming :v:.
Sony makes these excellent earphones that have this insulation that makes the area between your ear and the earphone completely airtight, which practically blocks out all outcoming voices from the outside world. Also, it sounds completely different with those kind of earphones.
I use earphones when I'm on my PC too. :p
For some reason, wearing headphones makes my ears hurt after like 15 minutes of wearing, no matter how ergonomical it be.

I have the same ones and I love them. Proof how much I love them: I accidentally stepped on my first pair, so I bought another pair cause I love them. Then I left them on the floor and my fucking dog chewed on them, I killed the dog :v: and I am currently on my thrid pair and I still love them.
Fucking dog.
Edit: And yes, they're asymmetric.

Most earbud headphones hurt the first day of use but you get used to them.
Those three hundred dollar Bose headphones.
Use ebay, I am sure there are 1000s on there.
