Purchase The Ship and receive two extra activations to send to your friends! Additionally, any user that receives a gift activation will be able to give one additional activation to a friend.
So, I pay for 4 copies total?
And is the game populated? It looks really interesting.
you get 3 copies, and then your friends get a second copy each.
Last time i played it, it had like 3 servers or so with a decent amount of players. Though for a game like this, it's a blessing it's got even that.
I wish I had the money for this, I heard it's a pretty good game. I've played the spiritual Succesor, Bloody Good Time, it's a shame that it's dead
Good game but unafortunatelly it's nearly dead, which is a shame because it's fun to play.
If they are already nearly giving it away for free as well with the whole "get 2 extra copies!" deal i would say make it free, at least the game will get populated again but on the other hand they will obviously not get any income.
Yeah it's a good game, but no one plays it

Then it would truly die. At least with sales like this, there's some big bursts of activity
This game is pretty good, although if I remember right it's a little too easy to grief in.
Syringing people till they puke consistently erryday
Incredibly fun game, well worth the price even though the game is mostly dead(play a private game with friends?). If you do buy it, don't gift any of the copies to FPers that beg for it, they'll just join a random server, kill a guy who isn't their target, then never play it again
Hello, I am silentjubjub and I fully endorse this game.

Literally one of my favorite games. A dead game that I've some how put (over) 100 hours into.
you get 3 copies, and then your friends get a second copy each.
i'm not 100% sure if this still works but there was an offer on a while ago that you could keep sending gift passes on, user a gives to user b and user c to d and so on all from user A buying just one copy, so loads of people got it
I hate how the online community is dead. It's by far the most played game at LAN parties I have with my friends. It's a shame that the game is so broken, AI's are fucked to hell and back.
too bad the company that bought it is more focused on trying to make a shitty sequel than updating the game and reviving it it seems.
we really should put together a FP community for this game every time a thread about it pops up the same people (including me) come talking about how much they love and still play it
I think they will eventually just write off the game and give it out for free in the not to distant future.
It's seriously a great game. I highly recommend it.
Yeah, everybody say it's dead and avoid it rather than buying what is essentially five copies of the game for $4 and populating the servers.

No, they want to add more content, though they've hit a roadblock. They mentioned it in a blogpost of theirs back in August

The first – and probably longest standing solution we’ve had in mind – is to acquire the Source licence which would enable us to update and amend the game. For some time now we’ve been in talks with Valve about acquiring this licence. Unfortunately, this is not a quick process, and we can almost definitely expect a long wait for results.
Another solution we’ve been considering would be to move the game onto another engine, where our current restrictions would be lifted. This could come with a large array of issues ranging from funding to development; right up to a need to re-publish on Steam.
As you can imagine, both routes will not be easy to accomplish, and neither will they be particularly quick. However, we love The Ship and its wonderfully murderous community, and we’re determined to do what we can to keep this murder party going on for as long as possible! Which brings us neatly on to…
I don't trust them because the knuckleheads at Blazing Griffin blamed the Kickstarter failure on conversions. Forget the fact that this is a new developer who (at the time of Kickstarter) had a whole two games on their portfolio, an iOS game and a remake of said game. Since then they've added a mediocre APB: Retribution iOS game. They're taking over the sequel for a game that sold poorly enough that the studio shut down and has become the modern day AOL trial discs throwing copies like they're confetti. No, the kickstarter failed because of pound to USD conversions making people nervous.
I love the atmosphere in this game

I would never back their proposed sequel just because it seems to have no direction, it literally was "The Ship except Steampunk because Steampunk is cool right"
They spent too much time reskinning an already fine game and not enough time presenting interesting new ideas
plus The Ship's weird art-deco sort-of-retro-future style is way cooler than steampunk
so was BGT's movie set plot thing
steampunk feels like something you tack on to appeal to lowest common denominator when they did it
Really fun with friends, awful againsts rands though.

nah if you find the occasional person who actually knows what they're doing it's fun
that's the sole positive about the small playerbase, those who are playing are usually dedicated and know shit
So if I played Bloody Good Time, will I know what the fuck is going on?
So if I played Bloody Good Time, will I know what the fuck is going on?
BGT is the same principle but super dumbed down so you'll have a leg up but still won't be fully aware
don't worry though it doesn't take long to catch on and a lot of people playing right now don't even have BGT experience under their belt
They should just make the game F2P imo
Oh shit THE SHIP. This is one of my favourite games of all time. There's just something so charming about this game that makes it so likeable. The gameplay is actually a great, shit ton of fun. A bit frustrating at times but still incredibly fun. I really give my respect to the developers, this is a great game.
God damnit I just bought this for someone like $8 a few weeks ago. Oh well, it was an amazing game in 2007 and it's an amazing game now. Love it. Hope the sale will bring more players. The Ship really is the predecessor to Assassin's Creed multiplayer (and better in my opinion)
The Ship is my favorite "Walk-Into-A-Room-And-Shut-The-Door-Behind-Me-Waiting-to-Shoot-the-Guy-I'm-90%-is-Trying-to-Murder-Me-if-he-Opens-the-Door-to-follow-me" simulation
