I am looking for a cheap upgrade for my PC. I upgraded the other components to bring them as up to date as I possibly can, but the issue remains of my old NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT. It can't keep up. I've been looking on Amazon for a decent upgrade, and came across two very similarly priced products:

In the past, I have always gone for the NVIDIA product. However, I have heard that the AMD product is VASTLY superior, as opposed to £20 superior. I'd like to ask if there is a reason for this disproportionate pricing, or if I have heard wrong. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place for an NVIDIA product? I use this PC for gaming, so a decent graphics card is useful.
In short, I'd prefer an NVIDIA product. It's what I'm used to, and they've always been good. It's just that I'm willing to consider an AMD, so I'd like to know that I'm not about to waste my money on this NVIDIA.
AMD is usually faster at stock clocks but the drivers suck and nvidia has better drivers and overclocking isnt hard.

The 550ti is specifically overpriced for its performance, most other nvidia cards are not as overpriced
The GTX 460 is the proper NVIDIA equivalent of the 6850, being around the same price (at least in the US) and having almost the same framerate in many games. The 550 Ti is an overpriced competitor to the 6770.
The GTX 460 doesn't quite match the 6850, but you should be fine with either, really.
Thank you for your responses. I will attempt to get my hands on the GTX 460.

Don't search for it as such, the 6850 is better.
