• Fried Harddrive recoverable?

Hey so there was a power outage in my area this weekend and it fried my HDD because I left my computer on. I'm wondering if there is any way to recover the hard drive? The hard drive is not recognized in BIOS anymore so I just assume its useless. Anything I can do with it? Other than microwave it.
Double check connections and try it in another computer.

Check it in another computer for fucks sake.
I don't think there's much you can do if it's the circuitry that's fried. Invest in a surge protector.
Yeah, if the BIOS doesn't recognize it, try it in another computer. If that computer doesn't recognize it at all, it's a brick. There's ways to recover the data, but it'd probably cost more than a brand-new gaming rig would.
only way to recover is either swapping out platters or circuit board.
you have to get the same circuit board which is on the hdd and replace it then swap over the eeprom
you have to get the same circuit board which is on the hdd and replace it then swap over the eeprom
Also careful with the ribbon cable that comes out (visibly) around the motor. If you have access to the clean room, you can do a platter-swap. * Both methods require the same drive. e.g, If this is a WD Cavaiar Blue 160GB 5200, you'll need that exact same type.
Derg too much work

You can get a surge protector for even less than $20 in certain stores...
