Question: Pacific Rim/Godzilla crossover. Improbable, but would it be awesome or just ruin both fra

I *love* Pacific Rim. It's got great character and amazing action. I was listening to James Rolf and Mike Matei talk about the New Godzilla movie and they said offhand about how if they replaced godzilla with a different monster it would just be Pacific Rim.
And I got to thinking, what if those two movies crossed over.
I mean, Godzilla is the king of monsters. And Pacific Rim is the best modern giant robot movie. It seems like a natural fit to have a Jaeger go toe-to-toe with Godzilla.

It can start with him showing up, and ripping a few low-tier 'bots to shreds and then we get Idris Elba getting a bunch of pilots together along with Newt and Hermann. They can fight him and lose and then the eggheads figure out it's not like the Kaiju they've been fighting, it's actually terrestrial in origin and all that good stuff.
I suppose the final fight could be one big Jaeger (With more than two pilots maybe?) taking on Godzilla to stop it from reaching the Shatterdome or something of that ilk. It'd be close, an arm would get ripped off the Jaeger, and then Godzilla would go down, but then there'd be a post credits thing of an eye opening up underwater.

So, probably never gonna happen, but would it be good enough to bring both franchises up or dumb enough to drag them down?
Reminds of this.
Multiple Mecha-Godzillas vs. Godzilla
Godzilla losing? Pft.
Jaegers are waaaaay more fragile than Godzilla. It wouldn't even be a fair fight.
It'd be like fly's attacking a fly swatter.
I was kind of hoping the last ultimate kaiju in Pacific Rim would turn out to be something Godzilla-like. Unfortunately it wasn't.
no, pacific rim/power rangers crossover
