• Can I touch hardware in a running computer?

I just read in another forum that some of their users openly touch hardware in their computer while it's running to ensure temps. Is it ok, if I am grounding myself on the metal case and not wet & conductive (:quagmire:) to touch hardware?
I mean, will the hardware survive if I touch it while running?
What exactly are you planning to touch, and why does it have to be on at the time? But really, if you don't rub your hands everywhere it shouldn't be a problem, although possibly a bit hot.

I've touched 2 of my 3 fans while they're running at full RPMs, heh... oh well. I mean, I want to touch my GPU to get an idea of the heat it's putting out while idle, so would it be safe to do this?
^Same as Winner, use Speccy, except you're not a dumbass for not knowing about it, it's perfectly okay
You could, but why don't you just use Speccy or something? You can monitor temperatures without shoving your hand into a running computer. Dumbass.
That was kinda harsh.
I believe that you would actually have to try hard in order to kill something. I've handled most of my components whilst they've been running, nothing has happened to them so far.
As long as you don't go feeling up your motherboard, it should be okay.
Don't do it. Not worth the risks to your health and your hardware's integrity.
