currently have a http://www.amazon.com/ThruNite-TN12-Edition-Single-Flashlight/dp/B00I1WVRBK/ref=pd_bia_nav_t_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0PMWY7YN8S2GF0SG5B3R and I'm starting to think it might soon break on me. I had another one that I broke by dropping and this one had a button on the end that broke, so I used the old ones button, now that ones getting signs that it might be deteriorating already too. (and this time it's not my fault). I even had a single AA flashlight from them that broke entirely on its own from normal use (my dad had the same one, which also broke, but every light he gets breaks) I'm looking at what else might be out there, something nice, solid and durable, and fairly bright too. I'm thinking I'll ditch the "Modes" and just stick to a flashlight with 1 button and 1 mode, less shit to be broken in the light. Maglights are my first instinct. If it runs on 18650 batteries that's a huge bonus. I'd prefer either AA batteries or that if it's water proofed, that's a massive plus.
fleshlights run for at least for $100 man [editline]13th May 2015[/editline] you could look into buying a used one though [editline]13th May 2015[/editline] and yeah they're always waterproof, silly
fleshlights run for at least for $100 man
yes but im too hard on them i break them all the ti- oh this is awkward you said flashlights
if you're gonna invest into a decent fleshlight make sure you get the super ribbed version. the others are a bitch to clean. also, if you ever get bored of it just remove the silicone and fill it with hot water. its better imo
why did I make this thread oh god what have i done [editline]12th May 2015[/editline] i just want a thing that makes light and doesn't break
Maglights have always been the way to go, in my opinion. Bonus points for the fact that it doubles as a club in case of an emergency. [editline]13th May 2015[/editline] We've got one of these: http://www.amazon.com/MAGLITE-S2D036-Heavy-Duty-Cell-Flashlight/dp/B00004SZ5S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1431494100&sr=8-6&keywords=maglight I don't know how long we've had it, years and years. Only issue we've had is batteries, and since it runs on D-cells that's a pretty rare problem.
I've always found the maglights and such we've owned never last very long (genuine products too not ripoffs). How handy are you with DIY stuff? You could build a far more powerful, insanely bright super wide throw rechargeable Cree flashlight for like $40 tops. Just a random thought... I got sick of all the branded shit and now I just build my own and couldn't be happier. This was the very first thing I ever made, so it's MEGA shitty looking and the wiring is so, so wrong (heeey it's a pipe bomb!) but goddamn if this doesn't turn the forest into day, and this is at max throw on the LEDs - if you focus them in tight, then holy shit... [t]http://i.imgur.com/6IL5Ytd.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/kn91CVo.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ci6enS7.jpg[/t] I've since built some much nicer looking ones, better switches / more powerful bulbs / bigger battery / painted the case etc etc. But it's so much fun. 4000-6000mah rechargeable battery - $25ish 3 x Cree Q5 9w - $8 Triple switch - $2 PVC pipe + End caps - $5 at hardware store Buy on ebay, get it all in bulk, build 3 for the price of one. That one in the pics I gave to my brother and he's been using it for months now without issue. I think he's recharged it like 3 times? It's awesome. /rant
I wish I could DIY better, I'm no handy man for sure, but having something that bright for that cheap would be insanely nice
Maglights have always been the way to go, in my opinion. I might get something like this in the future. I'm pretty sure this thing would break if I used it as a club though, so that's a bonus for maglite, at the cost of not being multi-purpose.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/kn91CVo.jpg[/t]
this looks like something you'd get put on a government watch list for.
stuff
I'd recommend bringing silver bullets with you next time you test your flashlights.
aren't there loads of extremely cheap LED flashlights that run on regular AAA and are actually quite decent if you invest in some good and powerful rechargeable batteries? I bought a generic one some years back and I still use it for work today.
Im a flashlight enthusiast. And have like 10+ flashlights, ncluding 3 maglights. Last year I found this: Holy shit. This is seriously the best flashlight I have ever had. Dont be put off by its low pricetag. It has been on 2 mountineering vacations, and has been part of my every day attire for over a year now. No signs of wear. And it lasts for 4+ hours on a 18650 battery in low power mode (still insane ammount of light) I bought 2 more for myself, and 2 for a colleague of mine that was wowed when he tried mine. Want free flashlights? The army gives us credits to buy stuff, and you can get unlimited amount of them, so long as you don't exceed the 200 credits. :v:

I looked, but wanna be sure I found the correct model. Have a giftcard and been wanting to spend it on something.
-diy flashlight/pipe bomb-
You follow instructions from some place online or create it entirely yourself? It looks fun to make.

But I did just find out they have it in the Netherlands as well for some reason.
You follow instructions from some place online or create it entirely yourself? It looks fun to make.
Made it entirely myself. I have a background in electronics, spent most of my childhood ripping things to pieces and ghetto building other things back out of them... my childhood was full of unnecessary self-electrocutions from fucking with power supplies and such, and just building ridiculous toys and devices just to see if I could (I'm 28 by the way, so I've been tinkering a long time haha). I was just sick to death of paying out the arse for flashlights that never last or can't take a beating, so I figured why not build my own. I'm half way through building the biggest, brightest and toughest version of my 'pipebomb flashlight' right now actually, and it's coming along beautifully. Probably about 20% brighter than the one I posted and with about 40% more battery capacity and a tighter focus. Gon be gud!

I had a maglite ml300l, the best damn flashlight i ever had...before i lost it at walmart.... 625 lumen max output, 130 lumens on low, and a strobe and eco mode. It has killer battery life, and holy shit!- at the time of me replying , it costs only $37.63 xDD Also i just made a maglite swep (shoots maglites) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Maglite-Maglite-Black-3-Cell-D-Multi-Mode-625-Lumen-LED-Flashlight-3rd-Gen-ST33016/40638501

Mine's made by J5 Tactical though. It's basically the exact same flashlight. Extremely bright, takes one battery, is one LED but holy shit, it'll light up a pitch black room enough to read $12 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/J5-Tactical-V1-Pro-Flashlight-Original/dp/B00V7T1YRQ Best Flashlight I've ever owned Second one was taken in completely dark room. It can focus so narrow it just becomes a small square of light in the same shape as the actual LED
what an awkward bump oh well I now have these fleshlights A pocket flashlight, pen light thing and my brighter one for when I need it, only issue is it doesn't properly sense non-rechargables so it always thinks its low. Low power mode is still great. It's very bright and despite the flaw, I still prefer it having non rechargeable because its a very good thing to be able to get spare batteries at any time. and then the best one that I have, a bright one with an insane battery life and insane water proofing. At a far distance, with turbo, you 100% cannot see the person holding the flashlight, making this a VERY GOOD flashlight for being safe. You can pretty much keep it on a low power mode and it'll last forever. its weight however means its a good idea to buy a strap, like, made of parachord with a metal ring to keep it tight, and nothing less durable. It's pretty much comparable to Sobek's light but waterproof and with more modes.

I dunno about you but I'd want to try out a fleshlight. But if you're asking for a flashlight come no furth- oh nevermind it broke years ago  I do have a big one kinda like this but a little less modern:
Revtronic flashlights are pretty decent for the price. I have this one and it comes with a battery and a charger for $23. It's bright as shit and comes with 3 brightness levels, self-defense strobe, and SOS strobe, and is pretty sturdy. It's bright enough that if you shine it at a light colored object like a white ceiling at night, it will light up the whole room like a lantern. The battery lasts quite a while as well. [editline]sure[/editline] Good god man, I didn't see the date of the OP. My point still stands though, it's a damn fine flashlight.

fleshlights this cheap are always dim as fuck, use too much power, and break when you sneeze on them you can buy a cree6 that uses a single AAA that works better tbh
Can someone recommend a good cheap fleshlight knockoff though, for real, not asking for a friend
