• Really bad performance on games, used to be fine

Basically my laptop used to be able to run most games fine, at some point during the last couple of months or so, I've been suffering from major performance issues in most games. Here are my specs: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-240M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz Memory: 6144MB RAM I have two display adapters, which seem to (weirdly?) exchange roles, for normal stuff it's an Intel HD card with 1696MB total memory. But there's also an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520MX, which I can set certain applications to run with. Now, this is a 2012 laptop, and I think it should be able to run GMod at lowest settings at more than 11 FPS. A few months ago it would be able to do 40-60 just fine. At first I thought it was just an issue with GMod, but I've noticed it's happening with all my games, for example today I launched Borderlands 2 for the first time in ~4/5 months, did not change a single setting, and the game was unplayable - but I specifically remember it used to being fine. It's a similar situation for any fairly recent game I have. What I have noticed is that during this, my CPU usage is maxed out at 100%, which leads me to think the problem here is with my CPU, but I'm not sure. Any ideas? My graphics card drivers are fully up-to-date. (will happily provide any further information if it's needed)
I might suggest trying to open up your laptop (if you can that is) and clean it. If I'm reading this right, there might be a lot of dust buildup inside your laptop and more specifically your graphics card. If you do attempt to clean it, get a can of compressed air to blow out the dust. I've heard that you shouldn't blow air directly on the fan inside of your graphics card and have it spin quickly. I don't because I want to make sure every part of the fan blade is clean, but still. Hope that helps!
I think you might be right there, the processors running at about 80C idle, graphics card at around 70C, each hitting nearly 100C when playing a game, looking around the internet that seems abnormally high. I'll clean it out and see if it makes a difference.

You're either thinking of Fahrenheit instead of Celcius, or you believe having an oven for a computer is normal. 100C is 212F, that's going to cause problems no doubt

And I had never any problems, but when I start recording it would go over 110 and eventually just shut off and Megatrends would say that it couldn't read my CPU - But I just had to cool it down for a while and everything was okay.
