[i]Number of idiots with to much money reaches record highs[/i]
and they only had to sell 3 more ipads
Meh, not too worried, daily activations for Android is demolishing iOS.
A bit worried about the laptop sector though.
Good job Apple!
Convinced a girl's mom not to buy her a mac today.
Felt great.
Apple sucks they don't sell anything worth buying.

There's nothing wrong with a Mac if you're just some chick who uses their computer for Facebook, Youtube and homework and junk. Especially if you're getting it free as a gift.
The Apple hate in here is insane. They are providing an alternative for consumers.. sure they may be a lot pricier, but to some the nice aesthetics and ability to do most basic things lightning fast out of the box is worth the premium.
Learn to be more open minded guys.

A worse and more expensive alternative. Windows/most linux distros work out of the box and the ability to do most basic things lightning fast out of the box is worth the cheap/free.
Learn to be closed minded.
[QUOTE=The golden;31221396]If you're just going to do those simple things than a multi-thousand dollar computer is not a good choice.[/QUOTE]
Well yeah but if it's a gift then you can't go wrong there.

The only real difference is a shinier, smooth casing and no that is not worth the extra money

To be honest with you, I sell laptops everyday to people in a department store - and they're all built like shit. The plastic is flimsy as fuck and everything about them is cheap. At least MacBooks are sturdy.
Sounds to me like you're all happy to buy stuff that's build on the cheap, and cry poor me over slightly more cash.

Find me a linux based laptop in any typical department store where most ordinary people purchase computers. Oh what's that.. you can't?

Any good laptops from ASUS for example.
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
I found funny that a 800$/€ laptop has the same quality (if not even more) and can do more things than a +1800$/€ MacBook, and you consider it as "slightly more cash"
Same thing for lower budgets laptops
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
The only good thing about Mac is the OSX, but I don't feel like spending a shitload of money is really worth it

I sell ASUS laptops all day, the plastic is shitty. Have them coming back all the time wish busted up cases, and as a result broken screens.
MacBooks come back with damaged cases, but the damage is small and the screens are always still working.
It's just fact - Apple builds stronger laptops. Sure you pay the premium, but to some it's worth it.

You have to be the most clumsy person in the world to pay $1000 extra because Macbooks are sturdier than most of the cheaper brands.

I mostly think that some people don't take care of their laptops, whatever the brand.
Also Apple screw your balls off with their warranty. 1 year of warranty, and any extra warranties need to be purchased.
Meanwhile, brands like ASUS/MSI include on their price 2 years of warranty, 30-days no dead pixel screen, (and in some countries, return costs are reimbursed if the laptop become defective). They offer you a bag and a (not so great, but still better than nothing) mice with the laptop.

But if you're in the EU, you're entitled to a 3 year warrenty on everything.
Not in my country apparently.
Lol at Australia with flat rate 12 month warranty on everything. However consumer law states that products must last for a 'reasonable' amount of time.
I'm also fairly disappointed with the lack of any form of acceptance of Apple products on Facepunch. I mean Christ, it's an option for whichever consumer wants one.
I worked retail at a electronics store, we sold mac laptops and iPhones/iPads, as well as andriod devices. The 7 months I worked there, I sold only one macbook and 0 iPhones , but around 70 andriod devices.
I saved those 70 people from the horror of iOS

Asus is pretty good when it comes to reliabilty.

I'm definitely not a fan of Macs and iPads but I don't see what's with the hate of iPhones and iPads. I mean, yeah Android is a little more advanced right now but your average smart phone user isn't going to notice the difference there plus iOS is easier to use and looks better honestly.
Don't get me wrong, I'll take an Android phone over an iOS one any day but to me there's not enough difference (yet) for the blind hate.

A little? It offers functionality that most dumbphones offer, which iOS astoundingly doesn't.
Fuck off facepunch, let us use the products we want. If your pc is so much better than start enjoying instead of of whining on us you miserable fucks
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
Most of you people hating on macs have probably barely used them.
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
I mean jesus, you have know idea of ignorant you appear to anyone with even limited experience
You sound just upset because people have different opinions than yours.
And, I'm talking from experience. I used an iMac a lot from my art studies in my school.
[editline]21st July 2011[/editline]
And I still see nothing that makes them completely different from a PC, except the whole OSX interface, which is a bit simplier than Win7.

1. We are not miserable fucks, and I think I speak for every "mac hater" when I say we have a brain. We care about where our money is going to.
2. That statement is a shot in the dark and has no proof to back it up.
3. Again, we think about where our money is going to. If I can get a desktop computer that can browse the web for $600, why would I pay $2000 for the same thing? (also you seem even more ignorant for that terribly typed sentence).
[QUOTE=chrishind10;31233187]A little? It offers functionality that most dumbphones offer, which iOS astoundingly doesn't.[/QUOTE]
I've used both and while I like the Android powered phones better, I don't really think you can go wrong with the iPhone either. Especially since you don't see the price disadvantages like the ones between PCs and Macs.

All the people I know that use Macs are tech-stupid people that don't jackshit about computers and just buy a Mac for no other reason than the brand which they heard is "cool"
It's ignorant people that give in to marketing and trends that buy Macs.
I hate OSX. I don't see why people say thats the only thing worth in a macbook. Thats a reason for me NOT to get it.
I wonder when Steve Jobs will catch Bill Gates in profit.
