Hey. I've been having problems recently. My android has a cable and you plug it in to the pc to enable file sharing. Now the pc isn't recognizing it and nothing comes up on the android (it still charges using my pc though)
what do?
Try and turn on USB debugging. Settings>Application settings>Development>USB debugging
I already had it on, if you're any smart you'll realize that that wouldn't do anything.
USB device isn't recognized can happen with anything, but I need to know how to fix it.
I'm not sure how to go about this on a Droid, but on my cheap knock off has an option to connect as a "Mass Storage Device".

It's as if the cable's dead
The android doesn't seem to detect the cable (it still gets charge through it which I find odd) and windows doesn't recognize it as a removable disk like it used to. It says usb device not recognized.
is this a motorola device?

One of the wires connecting the DATA+ or DATA- pin might be loose. It may be wise to try and use a new cable
