Specs first: q6600 3.0Ghz 3.5gig 800Mhz 5850 Hd 1024MB resolution: 1680x1050 Latest drivers installed. Windows 7 32bit Ok, my all my frame rates in every other game are fine, even crysis max out 8x anti aliasing I get 30-40fps. BUT, GTA IV I get 10-20fps... I've tried turning down the settings and it doesn't seem to help much at all. I also notice sometimes cars are invisible and part of helicopters dont show up. Another problem is in modern warfare 2 RARELY walls dont get drawn.

Well done on reading my post...
Yeah, it doesn't say anything about your drivers so what did he miss

Just so you know GTA IV is poorly optimized for the PC, but make sure 3D settings of Catalyst Control Center does not have the Anti-aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering fields enabled.

But with the recent patches, and with high-end components like that, it really shouldn't have any problems at all.
I think I found the problem, the game is actualy very poorly made, looking at videos on youtube. People with same proccesor and a range of gpu's the frame rate is about the same. Too bad.

Try & set this in the launch options: -norestrictions And if you're running the steam version, create a " commandline.txt " file in your GTA IV folder, and enter the same command in that. (GTA IV is silly, and without this command, it uses the VRAM only, and not the actual memory of the computer. People have earned as much as 20 FPS from using this simple command.) Oh, and are you absolutely positive that your copy of GTA IV is fully patched up?
Yup it's patched up, I can play online. I will try that launch option and report back. [editline]01:46PM[/editline] 11fps :C I put " -norestrictions" on the front of my shortcut target but it seemed to make it worse. or it might of done nothing, was that the correct command?
