About a week ago I wanted to start punching my punchingbag again. So right when I turn my hip and go for the first punch I get intense pain in my lower back. I never had pain there before. I punched my bag before and that never happened. Might I have pulled something? Maybe I tried too hard to turn my body.
Perhaps you're just out of shape.
Take it slow to begin with, stretch and whatnot.
Yeah I took a big break from punching it, I might have tried too hard. Weird thing is it still hurts, like when I'm about to sit down, not when sitting though, or when I slouch on my seat.

You most likely strained your lower back... Have fun being in pain for the next month if it's bad.

If it's been a week and you're still feeling some pain then it's probably just a strain
UNLESS you're feeling other side effects like being sick etc..Otherwise theres nothing to worry about.
Next time warm up and take it slower

The best way to mend a sore back is to try and lift heavy objects, but you need to lift [i]with[/i] your back. Try to lift in a jerking or twisting motion, to loosen it up. After that, you should feel good as new!
