Shootmania Storm wasn't that big of a hit, as far as I know. They probably want to bump up the playerbase
How does TM 2 Stadium compare to the first one?
I like both ShootMania and Stadium2 and like the way they made Canyon. Wish they dropped price for that as well... Stadium2 has better graphics and that's about it, it's mostly the same game.
How does TM 2 Stadium compare to the first one?
Yeah it's pretty much the same game with a graphics upgrade that isn't actually too noticeable when comparing in my opinion, but it also feels like there's been an upgrade. I'm glad of this though as I felt the playerbase needed a boost as it waivered to TM nations.
And it's not even that much of an upgrade when you consider that most online servers are using TM1-era maps. Also, whenever I've gone into TM2, the number of populated servers with not-insane ping has been pretty much a single digit. TM1's still got the main base.
so is this like a limited free-to-play type of deal or if I get it before April it's free forever?
good thing i bought stadium

The problem with TM2 and ShootMania titles is that they are overpriced as hell for being engine upgrades and some small changes. I fhtye were £5 each, no doubt there would be at least 3 times more people playing it, because while the games are awesome and I enjoy playing them with my friend, the price of TM2 Canyon(which is essentially a whole new type of car mechanic in TrackMania) is too big for only one region.
