Okay, so here's my setup.

Same thing with things definitely receiving internet in green, things maybe receiving internet in orange, and not receiving internet in red.

Why doesn't the wireless work? Also, my brother's ps3 (wired) isn't getting internet anymore when it used to.
Now, my router has been fucked up for quite a while now. It started when my buddy bastian wanted to play minecraft with me, I tried to forward ports and shit, ended up fucking shit up some accidentally and then my wireless on the router broke. Nothing could connect wirelessly, just wired stuff like pc and ps3. I managed to get short bursts of internet out of it with the iPod, which I could 'nudge' by changing SSID once in a while, but that broke too.
Then I tried to restore to factory settings, which didn't do jack shit. I've googled it to death, updated firmware (was already at latest firmware so eeeeh) and tried using a different router, which was ADSL and a whole bunch of hickory-dickory fuck that I really couldn't be bothered to deal with. Another oddity however, the modem light is orange and flashing, but my PC is still receiving internet from the router somehow. My brother's ps3 can't connect anymore ever since I tried the other router, and I have no idea what's going on.
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1114870-Router-still-fucked-up is a thread that took place about week before trying the ADSL router.
This problem has gotten more and more frustrating with each day that passes.
What the HELL do I do?
Sypnosis of thread:
+ Router's modem light blinks orange, as if there was no router
+ PC is getting internet from router despite modem light flashing orange
+ Wireless devices can see my SSID but connection results in "Unable to join the network 'mcfloppy'" on my iPod.
+ A buncha shit has ultimately fucked up.
+ Router is Belkin F6D4230-4 UK
+ Any help is greatly appriciated

Oh, I forgot to mention 192.168.2.1, the normal settings page IP, does not work. When I use the ADSL router, I can connect to that by changing my computer's IP to 192.168.2.1
Does the wireless have security on it? If it does disable that and see if you can connect.
No security. I have no way of changing the router settings normally as 192.168.2.1 doesn't work. ipconfig/all reveals this:

Press the reset button on the back of it. Also power cycle it (15 seconds)

Okay
In my experience a lack of internet on wireless devices is often the inability of the router to do its DHCP bullshit, so my iPod has static IP settings

Belkin routers have horrible problems doing multiple things at once (the newer ones)
I'd give your ISP a call and see if they'll send you a new modem.
As for the router, it seems as though it's only allocating one IP. I'd open the router settings page and attempt to manually assign ip's to your machines (ps3, ipods).
More specific information like can the ipod's see the access point and connect, and simply don't have internet, would be helpful.
[editline]19th August 2011[/editline]
Your router page would be on 5.0.0.1 (Default gateway)
Okay, so I did what jordguitar said. After running the setup CD again all of the lights are green. I go on to my iPod and...
"Unable to join the network "Burden""
fucking hell belkin really

With the ADSL, the iPod could connect to the wifi but the internet wouldn't work.
With my normal router, the iPod gets that unable to join network "SSID" thing

Go into the router settings and make sure that it is really enabled and everything is set up. When you reset it everything got cleared so the ipod might be trying to use old shit so clear it out and try to rejoin fresh.

DHCP is a piece of shit on my second home network which is the only one that has decent reception at all, so my iPod settings are as follows:

Google's DNS servers are awesome BTW

Tried doing the same on my iPod, didn't work.
IP Address: 192.168.2.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.2.1
DNS: 8.8.8.8
Search Domains: 8.8.4.4
Do I have to make the router static?
err the search domain should be the name of the network, my bad
haven't been arsed to set it up correctly since I last reset my iPod
as in my search domain is serenity.com but the network name is Nirvana2

So if my SSID is 'dickbutt' should I put 'dickbutt' there?

I don't think there's a way to wipe it out on the iPod.

if you don't have any search domains showing up in an ipconfig don't worry about the search domain, leave it blank

Anyone want to teamviewer?
[editline]20th August 2011[/editline]
Would trying the ADSL again be worth anything
I might teamviewer later on but I gotta go pick up some grub
Eh, I'm off to sleep. I'll be on in 10-13 hours.
I'm back.
Hokay, so it's fucked up again. PC was working from the router (still no wifi) then I went out, came home and it's pulling some "Unidentified network" shit on me all of a sudden. I have to plug the modem directly in to the pc for internet to work, much to my brother's dismay.
What the hell is up with this?
Also, bootv2 mentioned the modem and router giving two seperate DNSes or something.
different IP addresses in fact, since both the dhcp servers were enabled on the same network that could be giving problems.
did trying the different firmwares work?
Couldn't figure out how to install them :v:
Also, before I try that again, I need to get the router to be identified again. Googling the problem, people are blaming their registries.
How do I disable BPI on a virgin media ambit 256 modem?
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
Okay, so after finding the settings (or more accurately, information) page for my router, we've seen this:

That's about all, really. Also, I switched back to the ADSL router for now.
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
With the ADSL, my ipod can join the network, but it can't utilize the internet.
Anybody know how to disable BPI on an ambit 256?
Still got this problem. Really need the help.
It worked for a full day two days ago. A full day. I will paypal $10 to the man who fixes this problem.
Here's the lowdown as of now:
Wireless works (as in devices can join the network but visiting pages doesn't work)
Internet doesn't
Worked with 100% functionality for a whole day
Router gets a brief second of internet sometimes, and I mean a second
i dunno, if you have any other routers to test with, do that.
