fuck you gabe you wank turbine i bought EYE yesterday now its 90%off
Apparently Shadowrun Returns isn't part of the sale, but Blacklight: Retribution, a F2P game is? Kind of odd.
Deus EX GOTY for $1.39, jesus christ yes
Crysis Warhead is pretty cool, it's short but it's just straight action and for that price the length isn't a problem.
It's also nice to go back to what used to be mind blowing nextgen a couple years back, and see how awful it has actually aged.
Worth picking up Crysis and Crysis 2?
Mirror's Edge is cyberpunk?
Worth picking up Crysis and Crysis 2?
Everything on this list is worth it tbh for those prices.
Mirror's Edge is cyberpunk?
Yes, technically.
Mirrors Edge takes place in the not so distant future where the government controls everything via high tech monitoring/spying and security systems, controlling the media, etc. Fits in the category of "cyberpunk"

There are no cybernetics but information technology is the focal point in the city.
Get jazzpunk
Dredd Vs. Death. You arrest people for being too fat
everyone buy fuckin transistor

I like that it was recognized for this, government control over freedom of information is pretty much the core of the genre in its beginnings (granted 'fight the man' was 80's/90's teen demographic fodder), but a lot of material goes out of its way to just slather a blatant layer of grunge and steel on top of their material to enforce the idea that yeah this is totally future cyberpunk, at times with little regard for the content itself having any relevance to the setting or themes it grants outside of having some neato guns
Steampunk, for the most common example, is chock full of a lot of opportunity, but it's treated as the "just glue some gears on it" victorian fashionista arts and crafts show by a lot of people
Worth picking up Crysis and Crysis 2?
Probably better off with just Crysis and Warhead, unless you happen to like switching from a wide open tropical setting to a gritty corridor shooter.

Crysis 2 is definitely not linear enough to be considered a corridor shooter, it's just not as open as the first game. Plus, it's more polished overall and doesn't have an obvious quality dropoff point.
Oh shit EYE is cheap. Gonna get it, heard good stuff about it.
if you like good video games that are hard to get into, fuck with your head, and have amazing atmosphere get EYE.
E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy is fairly shit, I bought a 4pack and couldn't get rid of the 3 other copies, but considering that other ppl seem to really want to play it then add me I guess
it's a nice concept but it's unpolished as all fucks and the bugs aren't even funny

though some literary nerds would say it fits more under "post-cyberpunk," since the antagonists actually point out that all the runners are lifeless outcast weirdos working on borrowed time for a dead-end resistance movement. it's the cyberpunk guys who think they can keep the resistance moving, and the post-cyberpunk guys who decide to quit and join the government. it's a very interesting dynamic i hope will be explored further in the next game

BLR's DLC is 50% off. I think Shadowrun was on sale not too long ago.
I already have Mirror's Edge, Crysis 1-2 & Warhead, Far Cry 3 BD and the new & old Deux Ex (old on ps2).
Any other must-haves?
EYE, Transistor, and Binary Domain are MUSTS from this sale.
chaser one of my favorite super generic early 2000s fps games ever
Jazzpunk is a great experience, get it.
As well, every PC gamer should play "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" at some point in their life.
Probably better off with just Crysis and Warhead, unless you happen to like switching from a wide open tropical setting to a gritty corridor shooter.
Funnny, when I played Crysis 1 it felt like a corridor shooter too, just with trees surrounding you that you can happen to explore despite it literally being pointless.
How is Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall not part of this sale?

i veto this; crysis 2 was more fun than cry1. buy crysis games for campaign not multi
Thinking of getting Gemini Rue... is it as good as something like DXHR?

Multiplayer has been literally dead since Gamespy shut down, so yeah.
Curious.. but what makes EYE so praise worthy?
