• Certain games make my PC turn off at the same bit every time

Hello just got a new pc for Christmas and installed LoL on it. Although all is merry right up to the bit where the game starts loading. Then my pc just turns off totally. It doesn't turn off then turn back on which is odd just turns off. The pc starts on its own without an issue after that. The first thing that i bet your thinking is hardware issue although here are my reasons why i don't think this is the case. I can run other games such as starcraft2, WoW and arma 2 all at max settings (Almost max for arma) without any issues and I did run 3dmark 11 which is pretty much as intensive as your going to get again no issues. All the fans are running no prob and finally all the temps are cool enough. I had a look in the event log it originally said there was an issue with one of the usb motherboard drivers so I sorted that out. Now the event log says nothing other than unexpected shut down. So the reason why I think it;s software is LoL seem to have a bit of a dodgy install, firstly I didn't realise win 7 has an sleep mode so the pc went into sleep mode a couple of times while i left it to install. When I did install it, there wasn't any updates for it although i dunno if the installer beforehand downloads the most up to date version. Finally I noticed it didn't make an desktop short cut and in the start menu on the short cut there it said something like 0_string_2 or something along those lines rather than league of legends. Currently downloading it again to try a reinstall, so anyone seen this prob before? Specs: intel i5 760 gtx 570 4gb ram win 7 64bit
Run windows update, and grab any optional updates, you might be missing something. Check for gfx drivers too.
Ok so i updated everything, reinstalled it and ran a bunch of hardware tests for gpu, cpu and ram. The hardware tests all passed without an issue and yet league of legends still turns of the my pc. Also i noticed the log was empty in league of legends.
qhats the wattage of the powersupply
750W but no matter for i have got it working :) Turns out the program was corrupt so i just copied the files over from my old pc and then it works fine :)
Hmmmm update Global agenda seems to turn my pc off now, again some point everytime. I'm wondering if perhaps there is a setting somewhere where if an error is encountered it turns off my pc. As i before mentioned ran a bunch of hardware test took around 14 hrs :O so hardware is fine.
It must be a temperature problem, you state that they are "cool enough" but what does that mean? Run HWMonitor while you play and have it save to a log so that when your PC turns off it will have the latest temps. I'm guessing your CPU is overheating too much and shutting your PC down.

I ran graphics hardware and memory test each for 4hrs and it doesn't turn off. Plus its at the same point every time. I just fixed Global agenda turns out by again dragging the file over from my old hard drive it seemed to fix it. I want to edit the title :( update! It seems to turn off mid game now again I'm certain it's not hardware I think its something my computer does when it encounters errors, I really don't get it. Another update incase anyone cares Turned off forcing anti aliasing on the nvidia control panel and all seems to be well now.
