Is there something I can buy that allows me to hook up a set of good ol two wire speakers to my computer via a 2 wire to headphone contraption?
You could simply wire them to speakers, but keep in mind they will not be powered. Meaning you will have working speakers that don't produce very much sound. Just get an old stereo or somethin :P
I have an old stereo but i want to connect these speakers to my computer i can do it through my Itower but it doesn't work correctly since the nice speakers only play one channel [editline]08:42PM[/editline] and yeah i tried simply wiring them to the computer with a headphone jack with 2 foot leads coming off and it was TOO QUIET
You need an amplifier
does the old stereo have RCA inputs? if it does get a RCA to 3.5mm adapter and run the speakers off the stereo and the adapter to your comp I used to do that all the time when i had a pair of ES90's
You could also use an FM transmitter with the old stereo.

hmm you could try to pick up a cheap stereo receiver with RCA jacks and then run the RCA to 3.5mm method but other than that the only other way you could do it is A an FM transmitter like benjgvps said or B. buy or wire up a standalone amp a modded Cmoy amp with beefier components might work never tried it though
ok does anyone want to give me some advice I can understand, and where to buy the parts, exactly what i need and what not? I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I mean really... I'm just lost

i think he wanted to wire the speakers directly to the headphone output it wont work
You mean something like this? Bad pic i know. Phone camera. Ninja'd
If im not mistaken he is trying to wire to a headphone jack, which is only supposed to power tiiiiiny little speakers, hense why you need an amp.
