Hey all. I have a Dell Inspiron 15r laptop, with Windows 7 installed. It's only about six months old, and it hasn't been dropped/submerged in water/beat up or anything of that sort.
A few months ago, I noticed it had a problem. A few of the keys on the left side of my keyboard don't work, mainly the S,X,W,Z, and 2 keys. Weirder still, is that sometimes they'll work just fine, like right now, so it comes and goes. There's no food or foreign objects under the keys, and I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the latest drivers multiple times. I even sent it in to Dell, and 3 weeks later, they sent it back saying there was nothing wrong with it. So, I'm kinda' at my wits end guys. Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
You could take it apart and make sure the ribbon cable that plugs the KB in is secure.

That's probably as good a solution as any. Hopefully I can put it back together correctly, haha.
Remember to pull out cords by their connectors. I managed to break my monitor cable on my laptop once.

I mean with ribbon cables on the inside.
Or it could be better to call dell and have them send you off somewhere to get it fixed under warranty because those ribbon cables are paper thin

who knows there might actually be a problem with the keyboard itself.
Well, I tried unplugging the ribbon cable and plugging it back in, but to no avail. I'm assuming the keyboard is just defective. Thanks anyways though, guys.
