• Backing up a 1TB HDD to a new 2TB HDD

I got a new 2TB WD Black and I need to back up my current hard drive to it. It's nearly full (my old HDD), about 800GB used, so I was wondering what the best way to transfer everything to the new HDD would be. There's no system files on it, as Windows is running off my SSD. Is it safe/possible to just drag and drop everything, or do I need a program? If I do need a program, what would be a recommended program to use?
Copy / Cut and paste, then wait.
I would not trust windows 7 copy paste to that much data. Use a program like teracopy or just clone it
I transferred some files over to the new 2TB HDD as a test, and it worked, but it shrunk the size of my 2TB to 1TB. I'm going to wipe it and try again using Teracopy, but how can I stop that from happening a second time?
...how did you transfer it?
I used a program called Macrium, though I found out all I had to do was expand the partition to use the remaining TB that wasn't being shown. I solved my own issue on accident :v:
