It protects your privacy online and makes your computer faster and more secure.
I don't see how it does any of those Running it before defragmenting will make the defrag more efficient so I suppose it kind of makes your PC faster, but that's quite the stretch

What Zeke said, though I'm intrigued by the Steam functionality. [editline]24th March 2011[/editline] CCleaner :eng101:
not to get passive aggressive, but they need to run cc cleaner on your posts
You should explain how I'm wrong (if I am)
CCcleaner :eng99:
I'm really curious about what these 600MB of files in my steam folder are, and why I don't need them
Dammit Zeke :argh:
You broke my automerge as well
CCcleaner :eng99:
Crapcleaningcleaner? Great piece of software, saved me a lot of space when I first used it about a year ago and keeps windows going pretty smooth. For Mac users, check out CleanMyMac, quite similar but with the addition of being able to delete language files from programs if you only specify a few languages in the settings. Saves even more space!
Doesn't Piriform update their products literally every day?
Not erry day, not even all day, but quite often, from what I've noticed.
I love Ccleaner!
I'm really curious about what these 600MB of files in my steam folder are, and why I don't need them
They are all temporary files, such as sprays from Source engine games, download cache files, crap in the appache and stats folders. They are literally useless. I have a cleaning extension on CCleaner that added Steam support quite some time ago.
i used this once and it cleaned up some stuff in steam folder. apparently it removed .scene files or whatever and made ep2 unplayable.
i used this once and it cleaned up some stuff in steam folder. apparently it removed .scene files or whatever and made ep2 unplayable.
I shouldn't have. Those kind of files usually have a copy in the GCF, which the game will read if it doesn't find one in the game directory.
I used this a few months ago on my mom's almost 7 year old computer and there was a looooooot of shit to be cleaned. Needless to say after I cleaned it throughly and got rid of some nasty viruses, it ran almost like new. ... For a few hours anyways. :v:
CCleaner is such awesome app. If only I knew about it sooner when I was still using the crappy windows one.
i used this once and it cleaned up some stuff in steam folder. apparently it removed .scene files or whatever and made ep2 unplayable.
Not CCleaners fault. I have had missing scene files in ep2 for ages and it doesn't want to fix itself. I have completed the game but still.
not to get passive aggressive, but they need to run cc cleaner on your posts
More like CCleaner on your comebacks...
It didn't pick up my Steam installation, probably because it is on my second hard drive :-(
CCleaner needs a decent auto-updater. Not just re-downloading and installing the program.
