• Advice for positon/job email

I've been having some trouble with getting position/job at some game article websites, I know it isn't easy getting a job, but this is my first time emailing out a position/job application, now I've sent of 4, only one I got a reply for, not all at the same time I might add. So I would love some advice, I do have a question regarding one thing that each site has as a requirement, writing an article with a limit of words, some at 400 and some at 700, now I never included one since I never knew how I would add it to my email, since I usually write a lot of things in my email. I assume this is a bad idea not including an article, but I always planned to post the article again, I want to change this so I was hoping you guys could tell me what you do, if you upload the article to site, or upload a file of the article and attach it to the email. And while we are on the subject of the article, is there any program where I can limit the amount of words I type, like 400 to 700 words, or 700 to (Whatever amount), so I don't go under the amount of words without knowing. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I tried contacting some moderator friends through steam but they usually been offline, or I just forget to ask them. Oh and if you want you can link me to some sites that need people to become an article writer, I prefer one that isn't professional, since I am not that very good when it comes to grammar, well my friends say otherwise but I think my grammar isn't that good, even if it is, the comma's and this '. I forgot what it was called.
Well, first thing, the gaming press isn't doing too well lately outside of big outlets like IGN since there's a big hubub over written vs. video content and positions are scarce. With that in mind, I wouldn't expect a full position or even a contributor position at a well-known gaming site unless you have a good resume and a good work sample. On the other hand, small sites aren't going to pay you. They'll ask you to write for no pay and call it an "intern" position. Being a small site, it won't help your resume much. And don't worry about how you send the article. I usually just send my stuff in the email with no attachment because it's easier for the editors to copy/paste that way. A skilled writer won't have a problem getting at least 700 words, so I'd suggest experimenting with the content of your reviews.
I don't expect money, hence I put position into my title, should of put volunteer or intern in, was tired at the time. [editline]20th July 2014[/editline] And I prefer small review communities.
