Hey.
Heyyyy.
Pstt.
You, hey .. yes you, Konami.

It's not really that good anyway. Melee combat feels jank, which is a problem when you remember that you need to manage your ammo, and stamina management is a pain in the ass. I only played once during the Xbone beta because it ended the next day and I played it when it was late and I was about to go to bed so I couldn't really go any longer, but the injury system doesn't seem to be as cool as I was hoping, either. Also, cars and walker gears just breaking from use because "ah you know shit gets fucked up when it gets transported to an alternate dimension" smells like a microtransaction scheme.
Instead of the Fortnite-type semi-arcade gameplay I was hoping for, it turns out they made yet another poorly designed indie survival game. Go figure.
So is it as shit as everyone knew it would be

I mean, not really? It seems fine, but the whole Konami thing will keep it shunned.
I'll honestly take a look. I know the main designers are the same guys who did MGS2 and so on. As a spin off, it might be decent, but my hopes and expectations are not high.
The previous beta was received somewhat well but I'm going to wait for reviews (and ONLY reviews from fans of the series and not journalists) and then I MIIIGHT consider it.

It's got a hump at the start when you have no stamina or health and all your gear is shit, but once you get a couple of levels it's actually pretty good. The current plans for ingame monetisation are also some of the least scummy I've seen in a long time, it's just packs of resources you can gather in game, which weren't rare in my experience with the PS4 beta.
If Konami weren't such cunts to their employees and they didn't fuck over Kojima and MGSV I would consider giving this a shot, but they've been absolutely awful in the past so they'll have to do a lot of good in order for me to even consider this.
I would still recommend trying the beta to see what you think of the gameplay, if only for curiosity's sake.
Like, if it gets down $5-$10 i might get it, but that'll be a while (maybe)
it's looking nice, probably will buy it when it comes out
I enjoyed it since the game is essentially the same as TPP but with the few good things about MGO3 folded into it, like the fulton trap, wormhole generator and clothing customisation.
In MGO3 you paid free or premium currency to unlock single clothing options and colour schemes: the game was extremely stingy with the former even for winning matches; the latter apparently became easier to earn through events in TPP. Either way it wasn't a great choice for a mode which introduced welcome clothing options but wasn't very fun or well supported.
In Survive, since those items mitigate damage and increase ammo capacity, you get them from blueprints or find the gear itself at the end of co-op missions. Swapping out shirts and fatigues for example or switching to any colour palette or pattern which exists in Survive right now doesn't cost anything as of the beta, at least until the gear wears down and needs to be repaired. It's a better system so far, but how it works out in the main game remains to be seen.
I'll definitely give this a try with friends just for shits and giggles, so it better not be +20 GB
I still question the pricing of Survive. (it's sixty fucking dollars in Canada)
It's still genuinely upsetting seeing people intend to buy games from Konami of all companies.

50gb games is the norm. Just have to live with this tbh.

its like £25 over here which is about the perfect price for a little fuck about game since its obviously not worth full price

I remember 13 gigs was the norm and 20 gigs was huge. I kind of think its less more content/quality that requires that space, and more poor optimization.

I thought it was more about uncompressed FMVs and audio. With both the PS4 and Xbox One using BluRay discs...
I wonder if it'll be datamined, or if they found a way to prevent it.

The only good parts of survive come from it being MGS5
