• How to make applications play on specific devices?

Hello there, I have a complicated question. I'd like to play music I play through YouTube on a specific recording device on my computer, while still hearing it somehow. I tried using Virtual Audio Cable, that sort of worked but the applications keep switching devices. Like: having GMod sound on my speakers, having YouTube sound on both my speakers and a recording device. Is that possible? Thanks.
With two sounds and a mixer you could do it.
Please give us more details, its not 100% clear what you're trying to achieve.

He either wants to micspam or pirate low quality music from youtube. Seeing as how he wants to do this while using Gmod then yeah, I assume mic spam.
I did this before, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. If you use Realtek High Definition Audio, you should have a recording device called Stereo Mix (you might have to enable it). As long as you play sound though Speakers, it will also play through Stereo Mix. If you use speakers, the solution is simple: use Stereo Mix as your microphone. "But I want to use my microphone too!" Since it looks like you have Virtual Audio Cable, you will have at least the first virtual recording device "Line 1" Simply open up two of the audio repeaters that come with VAC, and direct both of them into Line 1; one should come from Stereo Mix, the other from your microphone. Afterwards, simply use Line 1 as your microphone. (Don't forget to start the repeaters!) "I still want to use my headphones (Speaker is a separate device)" What I did here was mute my physical speakers. What I did then was right click Stereo Mix > Properties and on one of the tabs, you should have a "Listen to this device" checkbox. Choose your headset on the drop down menu below that, and check the box. There, you win. (If this doesn't work, consider downloading Realtek from your motherboard manufacturer's website, not the general one) for the record, I do not use this to micspam
Yes, I want to micspam. I know how to, with VAC and foobar2000, I'd just like to have the sounds that a specific application plays redirected to a specific device, so instead I can stream the music I am listening to from YouTube, without background sounds from games and stuff. Most applications do not have a setting to set on what device the sound is being played on, and switching "default" device switches the sounds of all apps over to the new device. I didn't know downloading from YouTube was pirating.

If you want to hear it, i'd use a repeater to repeat "Line 1" to your headset/speaker or whatever.
