Hello, so i installed linux mint to replace vista but mint has been giving me problems and such, so i tried going back to vista but when it gets to the screen that says at the top "Where do you want to install Windows?" It wont let me press next, at the bottom of the window it say this... "Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS." Help! idk what to do. So thanks in advance.
Have you deleted all the current partitions on the harddrive? Make sure they're all deleted before you hit next.
I believe you'll have to go through the live cd and run GParted from there and then delete the partitions and such, then you can try going back into the Vista setup.
Windows will not let you format Linux created partitions as far as I know.

I've had quite the opposite experience if I'll say so myself.

Or maybe just burn any Linux OS and boot into it and delete everything inside the harddrive. I'd use Ubuntu.

GParted is a massively easy to use partition editor. The Ubuntu Live CD has it installed, so I figure Mint will too.

Boot into a live CD for mint, go to the menu, switch to all applications, search gpa, gparted will be the only application showing on default Mint 11. Run it, then ask for more help if you need it.
Perfect, thank you so much! Once again Facepunch pulls though when it is most needed! :D
