Later than I wanted, but excited regardless
Is a version of this coming to WiiU? If not I might have to pick up a 3ds for this...
No.
Fcuk. Gotta find me a cheap 3DS then.
Fcuk. Gotta find me a cheap 3DS then.
Splurge for the XL, so absolutely worth the price difference
Splurge for the XL, so absolutely worth the price difference
That's what I was planning on. Where would I get a good deal for trading a vita for a 3ds? Unless there is a place I can get a 3ds xl for less than 165...
I thought the 3DS would end up like the Vita, but lately I've seen a ton of kickass looking games coming out for it. Might be about time to shell out for a handheld for the first time in many, many years.

I have Mario 3dland, Mario kart 7, kingdom hearts, and resident evil revelations. All are amazing titles, with great games coming out this year
I put down my preorder the other day. I skipped over City Folk, but I'm probably gonna be glued to this for months.
I think it's amazing that it had very shitty launch titles and now it's got a very very strong collection of great games. Props to Nintendo for pulling themselves out of that shit and not making it end up like the Vita.
OMG I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT IT'S WILD WORLD ALL OVER AGAIN. I played and kept up with that game almost every day for an entire year.

I just bought a Wiiu which has been having a bit of a game lack since launch, but I hardly even notice because of all the fun i'm having with my 3DS. I didn't expect to be enjoying the device as much as i am, but it's one great piece of hardware with awesome games. just picked up kid icarus today, very excited for it!
Splurge for the XL, so absolutely worth the price difference
Is the XL worth trading in my regular 3DS for? I'd still have to pay an extra $115 or so, and to be fair I haven't played it in weeks.
Is the XL worth trading in my regular 3DS for? I'd still have to pay an extra $115 or so, and to be fair I haven't played it in weeks.
i like mine a lot. battery life is much better, ergonomics are better, the touch screen is so much easier to use because of the screen size and the 3d effect is much easier to work with because of the bigger upper screen. i rarely turn the 3D off because it's that easy to use on the XL (where as using the normal 3DS i could hardly use it at all), and DS games are more fun too. i'm not sure if at $115 it is worth it, but i'm sure i wouldn't spend as much time playing a normal 3ds as i would the xl. so far it's probably the most time i've spent with a handheld since my gameboy color back in 2000.
I just got the normal 3DS because I like being able to fit portable devices in my pocket.
I don't really like the taller more human like player characters. But I'll probably get it regardless, I haven't played an Animal crossing game in two years.
I just got the normal 3DS because I like being able to fit portable devices in my pocket.
if your 3ds is like mine, then you can't really keep it in your pocket for fear of screeen scratching.
I don't really like the taller more human like player characters. But I'll probably get it regardless, I haven't played an Animal crossing game in two years.
The reasoning behind that was probably because of the fact that there's much, much more customization in this game then there was with the other ones.

But I'll probably get it regardless, I haven't played an Animal crossing game in two years.
I was a bit "eeeh" at the taller characters, but they seemed to up customization, so I can deal with it. It's not really a negative change either, it's just the "different from before" factor.
The reasoning behind that was probably because of the fact that there's much, much more customization in this game then there was with the other ones.
Yeah, you can change your pants, shoes, and even your SOCKS. Definitely required a taller model to accommodate more detail space. Not to mention how nice the new texture design system is now. Palettes don't suck anymore and you can design front, back, and both sleeves of shirts/dresses. It's becoming more and more pointless to use any of the in-game shirts/dresses since you can simply make your own or find amazing ones online. :v:
this means I can royally fuck up the town like no tomorrow, hell yeah in Wild World, I once literally cut all the trees but one foreign fruit tree and trampled all of the plants there's two of those nasty fly-attracting plants in my town [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] It'd be nice if you could say certain things at any time to swirl the citizens into a certain emotion in New Leaf. Because I remember if you'd talk to a duck citizen, he'd mention Tortimer likes to eat peking duck and get depressed. 24/7 cranky, depressive citizens aww yea
Shit, brb finding my old DS to play through Wild World again.
I'll borrow it from a mate :D [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] God some of the KK music was amazing. I can't wait
So who's going to move into Facepunch Crossing when this game comes out?
im going to play the fucking shit out of this game
started playing WW recently and it made me crave a newer AC, though city folk doesnt really attract my attention as the series has always seemed to me like a good timewaster when one has nothing to do, this is looking really great though and im happy its on 3DS i hope they dont have it this time around where you had to have a friend shop at nook's in order to get his shop to be fully upgraded (looking at you WW), some of us dont have a lot of friends that play AC ive not had a lot of reasons to buy a 3DS up until now (not a lot of interesting games for me), but this might make me rethink that

Most people I know didn't even have a Gamecube (Or Animal Crossing) so I never got Nookingtons in that game. It's not so bad in the newer ones since you can go to other people's places much easier.
