So I'm using this laptop I just got and I have a kinda weird issue. Sometimes videos embed perfectly normal on facepunch, other times there's just a blank post where a video should be. I have no idea whats causing this. I am using Firefox 26.0 on Windows 8.1
These are the only plug-ins:

My only extension is Greesemonkey with a couple of userscripts but they work fine on my main PC
I had the same blank-where-the-embedded-video-should-be problem a few weeks back. I fixed it by using the regular facepunch.com url instead of the https://facepunch.com secure url. Seems like https facepunch doesn't like regular http embedded youtube urls.

Oh okay, I thought maybe the videos themselves were not working because my default youtube URL is https. How can I stop facepunch from defaulting to the secure url?
Your facepunch defaults to the secure url? Maybe because you're using Firefox, but on Chrome I just removed the https and it was fine. Try changing your security settings or something.
I cleared my cache and cookies then went to fp w/o https. The browser remembers it as that now, thanks.
