It's not as good as Red Alert 2 or 1 but It's still a lot of fun and there is a great modding community.
C&C 3 is also on sale, get that instead.

depends on what setting you prefer, as there are the three separate series
there's the regular CnC series, I think people call it "Tiberium saga" or something, straight up sci-fi stuff with lasers and ion cannons and stuff, I guess there's more to it but I've never played any of the games or actually watched any footage of it
then there's that one Generals game, which is primarily modern day tech turned up to 11, so there's recognizable stuff like dudes with m249s, but then there's also nuclear artillery, missile storms, tractors that spray toxic materials everywhere, that kinda stuff
and then there's Red Alert. If Generals is cranking up modern day to 11, this shit's got to be 76
it's sorta science-fiction-ey (there's some kind of time travel plot), but it's all balls to the walls crazy

I hate the way they over simplified resource gathering and over-complicated base building. Like, the fuck. The only group I could stand to play really was the rising sun empire because they didn't have retarded as fuck building restrictions.
