Hey, I know how everything attaches to the Mobo, but, I don't quite know how the Mobo attaches to the case and vice versa.
My build is already set in stone and ordered, but, I need some help figuring out what all to do.
Sounds kind of ridiculous now that I think about it, it probably is very intuitive, but, anything I should know besides always ground myself by touching the case first and etc?
You have to use screws to screw the mobo to the metal desk inside case. Look at the inputs/outputs of the mobo. There is a hole in case for them. You have to position it the way that it the logic way.
Also there will probably be manual
included with the case should be some screws like this called standoffs

these screw into the case, then you screw the MoBo into these
This stops the MoBo from contacting the case which can fry the MoBo if it's turned on
Oof, thanks for telling me about those, that could have been catastrophic!
Also I just thought about something, where do you plug whatever from the case that makes the computer turn on when you press the power button?

Yea these are the things you use for screwing. You must set them into right positions because different mobos have them at different places and the case has all possible holes for them.
I once used the wrong screw in my mobo and now it's stuck in the standoff.
:smug:
Anyways, here is what you're thinking of to turn the power on:

They're called front panel connectors and they are where you plug in these:

Of course you may have more or less plugs or connectors, depending on your motherboard and case.

These are also bitch to plug-in. So tiny I barely see these bastards not talking about reading about which does what

I plugged them all in (at first i only had the powerbutton in) a couple days ago while doing cable management. I just plugged them all in according to color and they worked.

ASUS MoBos come with this

makes an annoying task so much simpler
For the front headers make sure you look in your Mobo's manual to find which ones plug in where. Just make sure you double check those and you'll do fine.

They were the reason i bought a ASUS mobo instead of a GigaByte one.
They were godsend when assembling my parts in a cramped case.
