I can't control it in the BIOS, nor can I use Speedfan. It's running at 52C, and my computer frequently freezes because of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT:
I know the fan isn't broken, because it spins up when I first turn my PC on, then goes to a shit speed that barely does anything, and never speeds back up. May I also note that there are no controls for fan speed in my BIOS.
52C isn't that bad.
I know my Freezer 7 pro is thermally controlled. It goes to 100% at 55C and 20% at 35C.
Did you check everywhere in your BIOs?

60C is overheating AFAIK (And anyways, if it idles at 52C it's going to go well over that when I'm gaming). Yes, I've checked everywhere. All there is is AMD Cool and Quiet as far as those things go. I've tried using Speedfan with the option both on and off, neither work.
You can press f8 before the computer starts up the os, then go into bios find the fan settings and change fan speed otherwise you could try to change it with a program from your processors manufacturer
Also if it's overheating give it more space maybe turn on a fan, open your window?
Do you have an intel motherboard?
And why doesnt speedfan work? Does it give an error, or is it just the automatic option that is not working?
Also 55C is not hot. Its not great but it will not damage your system at all. (do note that core temperature is always way higher then the actual CPU temperature.)
re-seat and reapply new thermal paste

I have an ASUS motherboard, but if you mean the socket type, it is AMD. And if that is so, I have a new problem entirely. It seems to have gone away, but I would randomly get freezes and restarts. Scanned for viruses with no results. Sometimes it would even fail to get past POST for more than a few seconds.
Speedfan just doesn't have the things you see in screenshots for fan speed and the like.

That "automatic fan speed" does jack shit.

Fixed the problem about the fan speed, but I still have the
but I would randomly get freezes and restarts. Scanned for viruses with no results. Sometimes it would even fail to get past POST for more than a few seconds.
problem. I fixed the fan by cutting the blue wire, the one which allows the motherboard to control the speed, by the way.
