I really should play Crysis 2, I preordered it on Steam but never played it
To those who rated me dumb; some of use have lives, you know, school and stuff. Unlike yourselves

you aren't missing out on anything
you aren't missing out on anything
Well then, a waste of $60
Not releasing Battlefield 3 on steam will just mean they'll get less profits.
Also I don't trust EA on this kind of thing. Their download manager is already pretty bad and now they try to fight steam by just pulling their products from their store?
Soon there will be a download manager/store from every publisher.

Hell, why don't they make their own consoles too?
you aren't missing out on anything
I thought Crysis 2 was quite good. It's definitely worth playing.
Dumb.
Not buying any games on origin

This really isn't a great move for EA, I get the feeling that they're going to go back on it later. At least it gives a (small) boost to retail markets I suppose.
EA don't realise that nobody likes their download manager and everyone will stick to Steam.
[editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
Even better; in an interview recently the CEO said he was planning on moving entirely to digital distribution, end of EA.
I thought Crysis 2 was quite good. It's definitely worth playing.
it'd be worth it once the price drops. after the decent but short singleplayer you're left with a really mediocre multiplayer that isn't really worth full price
EA is only going to lose profits from this
brb gonna buy every good EA game on Steam before they take down them too
EA is awfully optimistic about their Download Manager
I wonder when reality kicks in and they realize the shit they've pulled lately has fucked up both their reputation and potential income
BF3 will be most pirated game ever
This sucks. EA were actually improving their image for the past few years. They are loosing it now.
This sucks. EA were actually improving their image for the past few years. They are loosing it now.
EA is REALLY good at that.
EA is only going to lose profits from this
I hope so
piracy for crysis 2 is gonna sky rocket
If they put Mass effect 3 only on there ill be super pissed
I wouldn't mind if you only had to install the thing and not actually have it running to play the game, like Impulse. I can't see BF3 getting pirated more though, unless cracked servers come out?
Guess what, you don't need origin to run or play game, only to download it.
So it IS completely useless.
Guess what, you don't need origin to run or play game, only to download it.
I'd be willing to bet that buying Origin games from retail stores is cheaper than buying them from Origin too :v:
EA you dun goofed.

Lol the SP isn't that short, took be 12-15 hours to beat which is about on part with HL2 and WAY better than every SP component released these days in the shooter market...
It's just as good as Crysis 1's MP, the only real downsides are that due to the fact its in a city it is more linear. But there are still tons of "tactical planning" open ended moments in the game, more in C2 than in C1 in fact. Plus the aliens are actually fun to fight.
MP is a lot of fun too, it just suffers from CoD syndrome and has terrible hit detection and not very great balance (the starting weapon you get tends to be better than most everything due to its options and it being good enough, though all the weapons generally are useful in someways).
I spent about 30-40 hours playing it before I took a break, which really isn't terrible for a full price game.
I mean, waiting for the price to drop is good and I would suggest it but its not a bad game at all, one of the better shooters released this year. It completely owns games like Homefront and CoD IMO, the only pure shooter that'll beat it this year is BF3.
Looking at my games my recent ea ones were mostly bought in steam sales if they stop that then they lose my money, silly ea
Dammit EA, why can't you realise Steam having a monopoly on digital downloads isn't a bad thing
You people are being such babies.
You need Steam to play Valve games.
And now I guess you need Origin to play EA games.
I don't see what the big deal is.
And if it bugs you that much, then you can always buy a physical copy of a game. It's the same price as digital copies but you also get the box and a way faster install time instead of waiting for it to download.
Unless physical copies start doing that shit that they do with some popular games like having to tie your game to a steam account, then I won't care. They just need to stop doing that altogether, as that's one of the reasons why I buy physical copies.
Also absolutely nothing is wrong with competition.
Except I don't want to have 15 different programs that I need accounts for when the one I have right now has ridiculously awesome sales, games, and a decent overlay system w/ messages, in-game web browsing, etc, etc, etc.
STEAM is just overall much more convenient, and making it so I would have to get something else just to play a few different games completely ruins the convenience, therefore making me not want to buy their games.

Yes, let us have a digital download platform for EVERY publisher!
I like having all my games in one place, it's convenient. Pulling it from Steam is stupid, and will only hurt themselves.
Like I said, if it bugs you that much then just buy a physical copy.
Digital distribution is not the only place to buy games. You have options.
