Haha, fucking patents. When will this end.
Haha, fucking patents. When will this end.
try reading the whole article
the second half is pretty much how the whole patent and infringement system protection is a bunch of steaming shit
Well of course Samsung is suing Apple, because they copied Samsung Galaxy Ace design. /sarcasm
But seriously, I want the US government to "fix" the patent law, otherwise those two companies will keep suing each other until one of them declares bankruptcy.
This patent stuff is getting out of hand and I'm glad that a reform is being considered.
Some of these "incremental" innovations should have never received patents in the first place. Anything that is not novel or representative of a "significant leap" from the state of the art should not be patentable.

But that brings us into the fun territory of what qualifies as a significant leap.
what a turn of events
Apple and Samsung really fucking hate eachother.

No, Apple loves Samsung. (Samsung produces all of their screens amongst other things)
Apple's lawyers and Samsung's lawyers hates eachother.

I highly doubt Apple's lawyers are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want while the officials just observe passively

In UK patent law, an "experienced member of industry" determines whether a the changes are incremental or predictable. Clearly someone's not doing their job properly

"Hey, apple just filed another patent, and they even been so kind as to send one of their engineers over to determine if the change is incremental."

This wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
That is one cool judge.
This is really dumb on both sides. Just because Apple sued Samsung stupidly does not mean we should applaud Samsung suing Apple over even dumber patents.
This is all dumb.
anti-trust lawsuit anyone? Samsung, Google, HTC, and all other smartphone industry competitors should send one Apple's way. Then go after the patent office for allowing anti-competitive patents in the first place.
One step closer to patent reform, 2 decades overdue.
Apple and Samsung's war will lead to a revolution in the patenting system, and so therefore I am glad. Good for Samsung. I hope they can get some of their well earned money back.

You shouldn't care if somebody registered for a specific post.
I decided to take that name since there are a lot of Samsung v Apple threads.
Solution: Kill all the lawyers, nobody can convict you.

I took your post seriously.
Apple sues for rounded corners and rectangles: wins $1 billion.
Samsung sues for actual technology infringements: wins $35 grand.
Yup seems about right.
