that's what people thought about far cry 4 too. all we can hope for is that they introduce something new
To be fair, they have been diverse in some ways.
Far Cry 1, some bumfuck middle of nowhere island
Far Cry 2, Africa
Far Cry 3, Caribbean?
Far Cry 4, Snowy mountain fuckland
Far Cry 5, Trumps backyard
Looks kinda boring to be honest.

Far Cry 4 had a fantastic setting, they just didn't utilize it well.

Far Cry 6 will be a sick Blade Runneresque - Cyberpunk game that takes place in Japan and the starter weapon would be the pistol that was in the original RoboCop.
And then they just copy the style they did for Far Cry 4's cover as opposed to doing something different.
[editline]24th May 2017[/editline]
Honestly I think Far Cry 2's cover is the best one.
[editline]24th May 2017[/editline]
Well, Far Cry 2 and Blood Dragon.

FC1 and 3 are more or less the same place, some remote isles in the Pacific.
I'm glad that we can all pretend Far Cry Primal never happened.
There is a P-51 in the art, or some sort of prop driven fighter.

People are going to bitch about THE WAR ON CHRISTIANITY.
wait for it
They already are.
[editline]24th May 2017[/editline]
Based on the leaks/rumour that came out before this reveal
[sp]They're basically a stereotypical Cult, religious with some Scientology mixed in.[/sp]
I'm glad that we can all pretend Far Cry Primal never happened.
Whether you like it or not, at least they tried something different. This looks like Far Cry 3/4 with a different skin.

The wager should be who will bitch about it
will it be the sensitive/insane christian bloggers who think this game is the work of the liberal devils?
or will it be offensive enough to reach the eyes and ears of cable network shows such as Fox News?
another wager is how far they're going with the religious stuff. a thing to worry about with these political topics is that they could go too political.

I mean one could argue that it's the same place but back in the day, so the topography changed over time, but then that'd be trying to excuse their laziness.

Except Far Cry Primal is set in stone age Eastern Europe while Far Cry 4 is set in the Himalayas.
There is also a bow in that key art, so it is coming back.
I really liked the bow in the past games, I dunno why, I found it satisfying to use.
Assassins Creed set in the US was stale as fuck and boring
Lets hope the same can't be said for FC as well

Still the world In Game looks different without a doubt

The bottom-right branch of that outline has absolutely no correlation between the maps though.
Except Far Cry Primal is set in stone age Eastern Europe while Far Cry 4 is set in the Himalayas.
Honestly didn't even know where Primal was set to be honest, it's just them being lazy then.

Even so, the game world looked completely different it isn't 1:1. The art style, the plants, the animals.

Yeah, we all love to hate ubisoft but that map thing was pretty unfair

I would agree if Far Cry Primal was something like a $20 Blood Dragon situation, but modifying a previous games map and hoping nobody would notice is one of the most egregious acts of corner cutting I've ever seen in a $60 AAA game.

Fun fact: nobody did notice unless you look at it in a form that isn't in any way comparable to how it looks when you're playing the actual game.

You mean the fucking in-game map lol
[editline]25th May 2017[/editline]
In any case, I'm excited for this. I like the Far Cry formula and religious cult is a good setting imo
